Stayed Sep 15, 2025Perfect cabin on the lake. Beautiful views. The house had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation. The town of Swanton was lovely with a wonderful restaurant, yummy bakery and access to the rail trails. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Stayed Aug 10, 2025The cleaner was still there when we arrived. He was dripping with sweat, explaining how he didn't have his helper and didn't finish the laundry (the bathroom rugs were in the washer and he did not wash the bunk bed sheets). We told him we would finish up and sent him on his way.In fairness to him, it was over 90 and there is no air conditioner, but the interaction with him and the general dinginess of the place prompted us to spend the first couple hours of our vacation recleaning the whole house, including the food crumbs under the kitchen table and the hair in the bathtub drain. The blanket provided for the dog was not clean so we threw it in the washer. Though the information packet indicated that laundry detergent would be provided, there was none, which made us wonder what the cleaner used to do the laundry, prompting us to go to the store to get detergent and spend our time rewashing sheets and towels. That was day 1 of our vacation!.The yard is treacherous. If you don’t twist your ankle on the walkway from the driveway to the front door, there are deep, ankle-crushing holes in the backyard. The front windows do not open and the screen on the front storm door is torn out so no chance of a cross breeze. We had an issue with the CO2 detector and contacted Valerie who responded saying I don't manage the property itself, just the bookings, for the property owner, so nobody manages the property, and it shows.Place was not worth what we paid. Owner should be ashamed.

Stayed Jul 7, 2025Most disappointing experience. First vacation in 8 years, gift for my birthday. And we were met with up bed wasn’t washed. You could see the wrinkles where two people had laid. Stains, hair and dirt in bed. So gross. Decided to spend night on sleeper couch which left us sore, wasn’t comfortable at all. Shortly after midnight the dogs started to get bothered by something, scratch and biting in the air. My husband went to kitchen to find it infested with flying ants, all over. On our stuff, on ourselves and the dogs. So since we couldn’t sleep anyways we decided to pack our stuff and leave at 3:30 in the morning.

Stayed Jun 23, 2025I want to say that the place physically matched the description and the backyard and lake view are stunning. That being said, there was no cooling in the home and so the temp outside was equivalent to inside. Also, while it said there were linens provided the master bed did not have linens and when I talked to the property manager after what was a long day little could be done to fix the issue. On top of that, the blankets on the bunk beds were covered in dog hair as was most of the house. The fridge and freezer would not stay cold unless cranked up to the highest setting. It was very clear that spot cleaning was done and not much else. There were so many bugs in the home that my kids could not sleep in the room with the bunks. Under the shower mat was filthy… All of this caused me to pack up my family and leave for another establishment as the dirt and bugs in the home and lack of transparency about the lack of cooling on a 90degree day was enough… I have pictures of the bugs on the kids beds and filth all over the home… When I tried to discuss the cooling with the propert manager she blew it off saying cooling wasn’t common in VT. Interesting how I saw plenty of window units. Even if there was cooling, the dirt was bugs was too much for me. We literally only stayed one night.

Stayed Aug 5, 2024Wonderful week at this cute cottage on the lake. The views are absolutely wonderful and we enjoyed mornings outside with coffee listening to the waves and evenings with a fire watching the sunset. Quiet location, close to town (Swanson is small with nothing to do), great close supermarket. Close to the Champlain Islands (North and South Hero for bike rides, winery, boating) and St.Albans (charming town with shops and dining). Burlington is a little farther but didn’t stop us from the 45 min drive. Kids enjoyed staying in the bunk house! The house could use a more thorough clean and some minor attention to detail (broken outdoor hose, lighting, dog poop in yard, some more door mats by doors for wet feet) but overall a lovely stay!!

Stayed Jul 14, 2024It was an extremely hot and humid week. Property does not have air conditioning which made it unbearable at times. Property lists a gas firepit but did not have one. One neighbor not a fan of dogs even though the property allows them. Property provides amazing sunsets.

Stayed Jul 23, 2024Lovely cottage for relaxing and enjoying the sunsets. Close to town restaurants and shops. We took a scenic drive across the channel islands. Recommend Snow Farm Winery for tastings and weekly seasonal concerts.

Stayed Jul 6, 2024The cottage is very clean, with lovely amenities such as a kayak and lovely fenced yard! Well set up kitchen and a plus having a washer and dryer. I recommend water shoes as the first few feet into the water are rocky and there are sharp shells. Also, note there is no air conditioner, but multiple ceiling fans keep it cool. Beautiful sunsets!

Stayed Jul 1, 2024The property is beautiful! The location and peacefulness were just what I was looking for! I loved that it was pet friendly…my dog loved the fenced in yard! We did see many of the local attractions and traveled to Burlington…all very beautiful! The house was equipped great for the nights we stayed in to cook dinner. The bunk house was a pleasant surprise as i didn’t remember seeing it in the original vrbo listing! My only critique of the home is that it does need some sort if AC…the weather was very hot and humid and it was very hard to find relief, especially at night, even with the windows open. Perhaps some sort of standing AC unit would probably cool the entire place. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
