Just one block from the Ocean!

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage and loved being in such a central location on Ocean Point. We were just across the street from the Casino, a short walk to the shore road and white rocks, and a medium walk down to the Ocean Point Inn and dock. Every sleeping area was equipped with a fan, which was essential as it was very warm the first few days we were there. The kitchen and eating area was lovely, with lots of natural light and a dishwasher. We also enjoyed the porch and grill. You should note that the downstairs office area with a twin bed and trundle does not have doors on the room, just thin curtains in the doorways. This was a surprise to us. The stairs are also very steep and uneven. We had a young child with us, and she required pretty constant supervision as the house is not really set up for kiddos.

Our family, including the teens, enjoyed swims and walks on this oceanfront community’s streets and trails. The cottage manages to have traditional charm with enough updates to make it comfortable. The community’s casino (club house) is close by and provides many opportunities for kids like a nice playground and ping pong. The property manager, Wendy, and her mother do a great job.

We had an amazing stay! We enjoyed the wrap around porch with a swing & the beautiful yard! The house was so cozy, reminded me of staying at my grandparents as a kid! The beds were comfortable! A beautiful refinished kitchen. Checkin was so personal, we were even offered tomatoes from the garden. Our dogs had a ball! We would definitely return! Most of the house is original (100 yers old), with additions which to modernize plumning etc. Spacious property with covered porch for outside eating where we ate most of or meals. All amenties we expected were working fine. Local people manage the property and were very helpful. Less than 100 yards from the ocean, easy walk to beach, lots of places towalk, bike ride etc.and about 15 minutes from Boothbay Harbor by car.

The house was well equipped but it was quite a walk to the beach a long ,long., block and there was no view.The weather was rain and more rain and hot and very damp. They had only heavy down comforters, no light blankets. Apart from that the chairs on the deck need cleaning.

Overall we loved our time at Coastal Cottage. The location is fantastic, especially for families with young kids. There’s a playground right across the street, plus basketball and tennis courts. And it’s a 2 min walk to the ocean. The backyard and porch was probably the highlight for us. A beautiful spot for outdoor dinners and plenty of space for kids to run around and play. The house itself is cozy and the kitchen was great. The bedrooms were fine, but the beds themselves are on the older side and probably in need of replacing. The mattresses all had a distinct tilt to them. There were also some spots that could use a little touching up, like paint peeling off of indoor and window sills. We wouldn’t have been particularly bothered, but with two toddlers running around, the chips made us a little nervous. Very few of the outlets downstairs were working as well. We’d be back in a heartbeat, especially if they made some minor updates/fixes!!

This had everything we needed. Very clean older house that is in very good condition.

The wraparound porch was lovely. The covered portion with swing and table and chairs was very pleasant. First floor kitchen, dining and living room with propane fireplace were well outfitted and very comfortable. Stairs to second floor sleeping area and full bath were a bit tricky for our older folks. Beds could have used mattress upgrades. Might be helpful to convert first floor “game room” to a bedroom for easier access for those who cannot use stairs.

This house has a great location to the beach. It would be the perfect getaway with plenty of space with our 2 kids (age 5&8) with the exception of a house right across the yard. There was also people walking through the yard for access to the “casino”. Defiantly worth looking up on google earth prior to booking.

The home was charming, just as described. We definitely would stay again.
