Terrific getaway, a cozy lakeside cottage. Well equiped kitchen and comfortable beds. A perfect location for relaxing and also exploring all the North East Kingdom has to offer. Great outdoor options, swimming and paddling at your door step and extensive hiking nearby. Spectacular views from the decks. There is nothing like being directly on the water with your own dock! Island Pond is close by for resupply. Our host Jason was great, very helpful and communicated well. Thank you so much for sharing your place.

This home was outstanding! The house had everything we needed and more. The host responded quickly when we reached out with exceptional service. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone who wants to kick back, relax, and enjoy the view off the deck overlooking the water. This was our first time vacationing in Vermont and had the best time. Thanks for everything!!

We had a great stay at the lake, swimming, kayaking (had a local place deliver them), and biking. WiFi was solid. Three Branches cafe is excellent for coffee and freshly made pastries and sandwiches. Essex House was great for dinner. Overall - loved our stay here!

This lakefront cottage on Island Pond was a very pleasant experience for me and my friends. The house was very clean when we arrived and had everything we needed for a good time. AC kept the house cool, TVs, plenty of space in the living room for games, and great views from the living room balcony window. The deck was a very good hangout spot, great view of the entire lake. There are plenty of very clean beaches nearby, my favorite beach was on the Island itself that the pond is named after. Just need a boat to get yourself out there. There is also a very nice state beach 3 minutes down the road. A lot of lakes I’ve stayed at just had too much weeds in it but this one was surprisingly clean and great to swim in. We jumped off the dock and swam around here also, decent area at the house that kids could make use of too for walking around in the water. The town has everything you need and good food spots. Conveniently everything is also 3 minutes down the road. Fishing was very good here. Good amount of fish caught right around the dock around sunset, both with fly fishing and using a jig. One of the days where I went out fishing around the island I caught a 3 pound small mouth on a crank bait. Very good fish in here. Overall, if you and your friends or family want a quiet getaway with good swimming, fishing, and beaches then I highly recommend this house. Great for both adults and kids.

The cottage was such a fun and great place to stay. We had many family members in and out as it was close to our hometown and everyone that came felt so cozy. The cottage is full of nice dishes and pots and pans. We are the family that brings everything with us but once we got there and settled we all said “wow, had we of known we wouldn’t have packed a lot of what we did” the kitchen had it all. The bedrooms upstairs are smaller but it’s exactly what we would expect from a cottage and it’s still a comfy stay. There is only one bathroom but again the description said that so we knew what to expect, thank you Jason! There isn’t much lawn space but right down the road (walking distance) there is a private beach for the road and we were able to go there or if you have a boat or kayak you can go over to the island and hangout on that beach. You can most certainly make it work! There is plenty of outdoor furniture on the deck for everyone to sit so don’t overdue it and pack a million chairs because it isn’t necessary. Jason was very responsive and checked in throughout our stay. There were minor things that were happening but he made us aware before we got there and it didn’t interfere with anything at all. Thanks for a great stay and we hope to go back!

Our family of 4 (including 2 young adults) very much enjoyed our stay. The location on the water was wonderful - for views all times of the day, relaxing on the deck or dock, and access for kayaks, stand up paddleboards, and swimming. Island Pond Lake is beautiful and clean, with a sandy bottom and very few weeds. The location was also great for easy access to the businesses in the town of Island Pond. Having a nearby town center with a few restaurants, shops, and a grocery store was a nice convenience that many of the towns in Northeast Kingdom don't offer. It was also close to great mountain biking in Burke and to many hiking trails. The house fit our needs well. The living room and dining area was very comfortable. We cooked about half of our meals and found the kitchen to be well stocked, including lots of good quality ceramic non-stick pans, plenty of dishes, and a dishwasher. The table on the main deck was perfect to seat 4 for dinner. There were plenty of beds for our family of 4. The upstairs bedrooms were a bit small for the size beds they held and the downstairs bedrooms were down a steep flight of stairs from the bathroom. But those were minor inconveniences, considering the positives that the house held. Although there are many beds, especially in one of the downstairs bedrooms, the house seems best suited for 4 or 5 people. More that that may get too crowded in the main living area and tiny bathroom. Overall, the place was great. We'd return.

My family & I absolutely loved the lakeside cottage! There were 6 of us and we had plenty of room. There is one bathroom, but it met all our needs. When we wanted to communicate with the owner he was very reachable and accommodating. There are two beds on the first floor/main level and there are three beds on the lower level. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen had all newer full size appliances. We spent most of our time outside on the water - we were lucky that the weather was beautiful. The lake water was very clear and warm to swim in. We rented paddleboards and a kayak from Clyde River Recreation. They dropped everything off the morning of our arrival and they picked everything up the morning we left. It was a great option to have available. If you’re someone who needs ac, there’s one window ac unit and it completely cooled off the whole main floor. Island Pond is a very small town. There isn’t too much in the town, but you can address all necessities. There’s one small grocery store, a Dollar General and a few small restaurants to eat-in or take-out…nothing fancy, but good. Quick drive to Canada, Newport VT and hiking trails-if you are looking to get about. And/or if you are an easy going family looking to just chill, relax and be on the water, you’ll love it!

Our family had an amazing week at this charming lake house. Waking up to the loons while drinking coffee on the deck was almost as awesome as watching the sunsets at night. The owner was very receptive and informative. On a rainy day, the inside was cozy with the same incredible view from the living area. We would stay here again for sure!
