Cottage was lovely. Could have used direction for heat….. could not get it to come on. Also suggest having some hooks available in bedrooms and bath to hang up clothing items. Other than that the stay was good.

The pictures in the listing were exactly what we found when we arrived! Clean and tidy. Ready for guests. The cottage shares a cute quiet street with other cottages and it does share a hot tub, BBQ and hose with the cottage next door but this doesnt make any difference. We actually made new friends and thought how nice this could be for a alarger group to be able to rent 2 cottages right next to eachother. Each cottage has thier own fire pit and 2 (maybe more?) parking spots. Trash bin is located at the road - easy peasy. Our 16 yro daughter enjoyed the hammock out front, we enjoyed the well stocked coffee bar in the morning and once we discovered the map to the beach located on the wall...we all enjoyed the easy walk to the beach! It was a HOT weekend so the AC and ceiling fan was much appreciated.Note to future travelers: This cottage has well water. You will be (literally) 6 minutes from downtown Port Austin and there is room for your dog, however it is not a fenced property. It took us less than 15 minutes to walk to Lake Huron and 25 to drive to Caseville. It is a lovely location and we were delighted to have found it!

EXTREMELY clean, perfect location, well appointed, nice “private” beach, pet friendly. There are two reasons for the 4 star (more like a 4.5):One was that there was a smell coming from the shower train. It wasn’t sewage, but was unpleasant. The longer we stayed the better it got but it was always present. We were able to keep the smell contained in the bathroom by closing the bathroom door and leaving the window open. The second thing is that the listing mentions a hot tub, but not that the tub is shared between you and the home next door. When the new neighbors checked my wife and I arrived home before them and jumped in the tub. They came outside to sit by the campfire while we were in the hot tub and we started making small talk. Comments from them made it very clear that they had intended on using the tub that night but we were just the first in it. At this point my wife and I had been in it for a bit and didn’t have a problem letting them have it and exited the tub to go back into the house for the night. The owner said that the shared tub had never been an issue before, but we had an issue the first “shared” night. I don’t know if the solution is to list the tub on only one listing or what, but it should be noted that it’s shared. Super minor things that could make the house perfect: a fan for each bedroom and hooks on the walls since there is nowhere to hang anything. Overall wonderful, we will definitely be back. Thank you for a great stay!

Exactly what is needed for a little get away! Such a cute cottage, wonderful outdoor space with fire pit and hot tub. Short walk to the most beautiful beach I have seen in Port Austin with a wonderful sunset view. Host was kind and accommodating. Would highly recommend this little get away! :)

Location was okay. Getting the feeling the neighbors dont want to you to be there. House was cold and heat was off when we got there. Issue with shower drain causing hose to smell like sewage. Other than those issues we did enjoy our stay and the house met our needs.

This was a great place for a 2 night getaway! The beach across the street was the prefect spot to watch the sunset. The cabin was clean and spacious. The hammock in the front was a nice touch!

Started out with no access info to the unit, arrived after dark to no lights and a locked door, had to message host for access code, this should have been in the email with the access info. Upon access we found the heat turned off, it was 50 degrees outside and the smoke detector beeping of a low battery (most annoying). My Wife went to use the restroom found there was no towels out to use, listing clearly said towels were included, (they were under the bathroom sink). No new trash bag in garbage can (found some under the kitchen sink)Went to use bathroom sink and discovered hair in the sink, upon further investigation found hair in the shower also. Was a hamper with used linens from previous renter left in the middle of the kitchen. When we reached out the host she was very short and was adamant she needed pictures to prove what we were stating and insisted the cleaner was there. Was unable to send pics through the app so had to text them to her. After we were there an hour and had already settled in for the night she offered the unit next door. No discount , no refund. Probably our worst Vrbo rental to date
