Allow us to help you step back in time when you enter this spacious Historic Tybee-raised cottage that was originally built in 1910. Transformed into The Georgianne Inn during 1921, the home has undergone many changes but has never lost the sense of nostalgia it evokes. Situated just 3 houses back from the beach, this estate will give you a sense of how things used to be on Tybee Island. Even though The Georgianne Inn is nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood, it is close to downtown Tybee and the stunning Pier and Pavilion. No need to drive for great dining, it’s just a quick walk to a wide variety of restaurants, attractions, and nightlife.
The DeSoto Beach Vacation Properties family purchased The Georgianne Inn in May of 2017. In tradition, they have been working hard to upgrade the overall quality of their guests’ experiences. The recent remodel and renovations have not taken away from the Inn’s charm but only serve to provide more modern amenities to enhance everyone’s stay. Expect even more big changes this winter!

This rental experience was by far one of the worst I’ve had with a property. I use VRBO often and generally have had great experiences. Even when the property isn’t quite what you imagined the property managers can accommodate. Understand that this is part a a local hotel chain owned by a family. The instructions that are sent through VRBO are incorrect. You must go to the Desoto hotel and pick up your keys and parking pass. Upon arrival the hotel was in disarray, I”m not sure if they were mid cleaning cycle or not but things seemed very unkept. The unit was dingy and was not clean - I found a lot fo hair on the night stand, and different surfaces (perhaps it was from the cleaning crew and not the previous guest, I’m not sure). I was assigned a unit on the bottom floor with very little natural light and nothing representative of the pictures online. I had the unit for two nights, with tax and cleaning services coming out to just under one thousand dollars, I expected a whole lot more. I would have been better off renting from at a local hotel. I immediately reached out via messages to VRBO and they said their was nothing they could do but contact he manager. I set out to finding another property as I would rather lose the rental money then waste my weekend. The next day the property manager had the hotel the group owned call and offer us a room. We had just sat for breakfast and said I’d talk it over and get back to him. Before we received our breakfast the hotel front desk called and rescinded the offer. I had decided to accept the offer but wanted to finish eating first. The hotel did call back and say we had the room. Once we finished breakfast we received a call from the property manager stating that we had to transfer our belongings immediately to the hotel. While I understand a cleaning crew had to clean out the room we were originally occupying it came across as very forceful and rude as we were trying to enjoy the day. This entire experience seemed contrived, seedy even, it gave the sense of sleight of hand. I would never recommend staying with any property owned by this group or make sure you get a 50% discount. The staff was pleasant, and did their honest best, it was just the entire set up that was off - the property, the room, cleanliness, management, price, hearing every single footstep from the guests above us……. Just beware of what you’re renting.
