What a unique and special place! We had the most relaxing stay at this historical property. Beautiful decor and peaceful surroundings. We would definitely stay here again.

A family church from the 1880s renovated to very high standards. Just 3 mins from down town Boone. We enjoyed our mini fam reunion very much. It is a place of peace.

The Thomas Chapel was perfection! The history itself made this a very special place to stay. The inside is immaculate and no detail was overlooked. The owner, Daniel, was quick to respond to questions and made sure our stay was perfect. I travel to Boone often, and will stay in the chapel every time I come up now!

It was such a unique property with so much history and attention to detail while maintaining the rustic aspect of an old church. As a daughter of a preacher, it was the natural place for us to choose. I’m highly recommend it and am sure this will not be our last stay.

Great getaway. Thomas Chapel was perfect home base just following Easter. Went to Grandfather Mt for day trip, ate at some great local restaurants. Host was great help with top notch communication. Clean, cool history of the chapel. Would recommend this for a great place to stay!

Daniel took great care of us in this beautiful historic property that has been in his family for generations. Super easy access to downtown Boone, and a gateway to other areas such as Blowing Rock and Valle Cruces. More than enough room and amenities for a romantic getaway. Would definitely stay here again!

Beautifully restored, welcoming chapel. Incredibly convenient to downtown Boone and App State campus. Enjoyed tea by the cozy fireplace; lounged on the comfortable couches reading...we didn't want to leave. Daniel provided everything we could need for our short stay. I can't say enough about the cleanliness and impeccable decor. The photos don't do it justice.

A gorgeous, u pique space unlike anything I have ever stayed in before. A lovingly restored family chapel that has been renovated into a comfortable, airy space for living and sleeping. It was quiet though is really close to downtown Boone. The pictures don’t do it justice.

This was the most incredible stay. What a unique opportunity it is to stay in a renovated historic chapel. We enjoyed all the amenities and beautiful Mountain View’s nearby. We will be back soon!

This was an amazing experience! The host was very responsive and helpful; he allowed us to move our dates back a week due to extreme weather. The house was beautiful, spotless, and utterly charming. I cannot recommend this property enough!

The space was so well thought out and welcoming. I love all the art on the walls and the decorations. The kitchen was well stocked with all the essentials, and the large bathroom was convenient. Close to town but so still, so quiet and peaceful.

The Thomas Chapel was an absolutely amazing experience! A sanctuary amidst a snow storm, it was warm and cozy, making for a perfect trip. Daniel was an absolute joy to work with and made sure we were all good to go. I am so grateful for him extending the stay for us when we weren’t sure we could leave with the snow and ice on the roads. Would wholeheartedly, enthusiastically recommend this wonderful space to all travelers!

We had a wonderful stay at the Thomas Chapel House! The location was perfect and the setting absolutely beautiful. The home had great amenities and everything we needed to be comfortable. It was incredibly peaceful and restful—exactly what we were looking for. We truly enjoyed our time here and will definitely be back!

Beautiful place to stay in Boone. Great location. We've stayed twice now and Daniel has been great to work with.

There were about 10-12 steps to enter or leave and hauling suitcase made it worse. We were initially there for 1month.There was never any clean up or bed change which we feel should have been done weekly. The place had no comfortable chairs or seating. Lighting in bath was poor and there was no tv service. All this combined made for a uncomfortable trip and we left after 2weeks. We are not asking for any refund but it would be nice. We have used vrbo before and may give it another chance?

What a beautiful place! Impeccable craftsmanship in restoring this lovely church--no detail left undone, and a very comfortable place to stay. Outside after dark, we enjoyed a great show from the fireflies. Just a great stay--thank you!

The vrbo was very nice, clean and comfortable. Privacy was great. The owner was flexible with our booking when requested due to a health issue and Hurricane Helene last year. Would recommend renting this property.

Thomas Chapel was easy to find, and a quick drive from Downtown Boone. Set back from the road far enough that it was actually pretty quiet. I definitely rang the church bell every time we came through the door. Incredible craftsmanship, such a calming atmosphere. We were actually able to rest. We loved the decor and the small creek running beside the Chapel. All in all, a fantastic stay!

We have visited Boone during our son's four years at App State. The Chapel is so unique and special—I only wish we had found it sooner. The space perfectly blends historic charm with modern comfort. The soaring ceilings and original architectural details give the place so much character. It was very clean, and you can’t beat the location—so close to downtown Boone!It’s a truly special place for anyone looking to stay somewhere out of the ordinary. Highly recommend!

The history of the property, the craftsmanship of the build, the accommodations, the cleanliness and attention to detail as well as the location are all 10 out of 10. We were very blessed to happen upon it by chance and made an excellent weekend get away for our wedding anniversary. We would definitely stay here again and really enjoyed it!

This property exceeded our expectations. The pictures look beautiful but in person is even more so. The owner did an amazing job with all the small details that some rentals are missing. From towel hooks in the bathroom to luggage stands, everything was thought of. We came into town to do some hiking and exploring the small towns around the area. This property is in a perfect location. You are close to downtown Boone but when you’re inside you feel like you are far away from everything. We would love to return!

Don't be intimidated by the beautiful pics of the location. From the exterior pics, we thought it might be remote but it is literally right off the road on 321 west of downtown. Very convenient. The chapel is stunning inside, very cozy and perfect for a couple or small family. Daniel was an excellent host.

The property is beautiful. Seemed like you were far from everything but town was just a few minutes. Wonderful workmanship and decor giving a nod to its original purpose. It was well below freezing when we stayed and it was toasty warm with plenty of hot water.Host very helpful

Thomas Chapel is the perfect marriage of historical character and modern convenience. It is minutes from downtown and delightfully close to all of the attractions of the area. The host was responsive and accommodating.

This place was a great midway point between Boone and Zionville, where our family lives. We came for Christmas and there was no more perfect setting than a chapel! The place was exactly as pictured, well appointed, and had a well equipped kitchen, which was much appreciated. Our host, Daniel, communicated effectively and answered all questions in a very timely manner. Check in and check out was quick and easy and we had easy and plentiful parking for our truck.

This was our second stay at the chapel. This property gets a 10 out of 10 consistently because it is absolutely divine. It is above and beyond expectation. It is absolutely one of the most unique properties where I have ever stayed. It is peaceful and serene. The woodwork is just incredible. It is completely obvious that Daniel put his whole heart and soul and creativity into the renovation of this chapel to share with other people so that they could experience the beauty of it all. Thank you, thank you and we will return.

Holy moly what a place! The Thomas Chapel did not disappoint at all! Everything about it was awesome. The attention to detail and all of the local & original material tie ins were super cool. The location is amazing! You are minutes from town but with the hillside and the creek it feels like you are in your own secluded holler out in the mountains. The hosts are superb as well. Excellent communication without being intrusive. The house has everything you could need and the additional coffee and snacks are a nice personal touch. My wife and I always enjoy our weekends in Boone but it is places like this that add that extra layer of wonderful to the time. We will definitely be returning!

Daniel, the manager of the property could not have been better, he was very responsive and helped us with anything we needed. The property itself is amazing, exactly as it is in the pictures but they do not truly convey the grandeur of the space. We love old barns, etc and to have something that looked so old (it actually is a 1885 church) that functioned as a new home was perfect. I would highly recommend! It is close to town but felt very secluded. The view out the kitchen window was a pre-civil war barn and a pumpkin patch. Perfect!

My boyfriend and I had an amazing stay…the chapel was very quiet, clean and relaxing…not to mention so close to downtown Boone/Blowing Rock, and less than 30 mins to major hikes along the blue ridge parkway. We were lucky enough to stay until the day prior to the hurricane hitting NC/TN. Hoping that little chapel wasn’t hurt by any flooding!

Cannot speak more highly of this exquisite experience! So thankful we stayed there for the weekend. It was perfect.

Loved this spot! The church was so clean and updated. Felt very big inside which was really neat. The host was really nice to talk to and even gave us home grown pumpkins to take home!!! 10/10

It was a great stay. Very spacious. The bathtub is a little to tall for my liking.

Totally enjoyed this space for a short vacay. The amount of amenities provided was so useful. The actual space clearly matches the descriptions and pictures. We even enjoyed the owner’s recommendation of The Local as a Boone restaurant .

Very pleasant accommodations that was conveniently located to downtown Boone. The restoration of the church was impressive and tastefully decorated. Owner should consider putting together a scrapbook of old pictures of when it was used as a church for guests to browse. Place was very clean and included all essential amenities. Will definitely stay again for future Boone trips.

What a great property. Historic Thomas chapel has been converted so thoughtfully. It was the perfect place for a relaxing week away. Nice kitchen for cooking after going to the farmers market. Spacious and cozy all at once. Super clean! Thanks for a great stay!

Several things needed to be fixed. No soap in bathroom at sink. No decaf coffee. Architecture beautiful!

It was perfection. We sat out in the evening and watched the fire flies. Very peaceful yet close to town. I loved sitting in large comfy chair reading or just gazing up at the hand hewn beams. We will return.
