Stayed Apr 18, 2026If you are looking for a kicked-back, upcountry bungalow, this property is it. This is not a sterile condo, it is a quirky, lush property on a 1-lane road (great for walking) about 15 minutes from major amenities. There is an on-site property manager who is very helpful but leaves you alone. The island and upland views are beautiful and ever-changing with the changing cloud cover. When the clouds lift at night, the stars are spectacular. Not for everyone but we loved it.

Stayed Feb 16, 2026This home is absolutely lovely. The sounds of nature and songs of birds were mesmerizing. We saw deer, turkeys, pheasants and mongoose from the back porch each morning. We made fires in the stove and snuggled up. It was fabulous. So many stars!

Stayed Jan 6, 2026We had a great stay at Janice’s place - it was perfect for my wife, myself and our adult son. The property is in a beautiful setting in Up Country Maui. Sunset and star gazing were wonderful. We would gladly return.

Stayed Jul 13, 2025Absolutely gorgeous. I was expecting an incredible view but Star Lookout was even more. Absolutely quiet and peaceful. There were not very many neighbors but the few were friendly.If you want a relaxing place to unwind with no one else around, this is your place.

Stayed Feb 19, 2025We had an amazing stay in upcountry Maui. The cottage was super clean, well-stocked and exactly as described. We loved the location, a very peaceful, rural countryside vibe. Loved the cats, we could see deer, sheep and of course chickens! If you want a quiet peaceful stay away from the crowds I would highly recommend.
