One of six 17th century stone built barns converted to comfortable and well equipped cottages in an Area of Outstanding Natural Landscape and adjacent to the SW Coastal Path. Set around a courtyard and with ample parking and a child's outdoor play area and an information room with brochures, games, books and dvds etc. A laundry with drying facilities is provided. Beds are made for your arrival.

The National Trust’s extensive cliff top is just across the quiet lane.. a step away with magnificent views of Whitsand Bay and the entrance to Looe Harbour. Just sit on the cliff and relax or have a barbeque in the evening or stroll to Millendreath Beach which is 300 meters away with its cafe, toilets and water sports equipment hire.

Follow the scenic South West Coastal Path for 1 ½ miles to the ancient fishing town of Looe. On coastal walks you will find plenty of flora and fauna to interest you from wild flowers to birds of prey and occasionally a deer. Looe is still a thriving fishing port with a busy fish market where you can watch the auctions. Buy a fresh mackerel or catch your own from the many little fishing boats you can hire. Whatever you choose a fresh mackerel makes a tasty meal! The narrow streets of Looe are a delight to wander and browse. Pick up an oggy (a traditional Cornish pasty) for that tasty snack lunch!! Public beaches are available in Looe or at Seaton.

The virtual traffic free ancient smugglers fishing village of Polperro is only a short drive away. Many attractions nearby include the Eden Project and the National Marine Aquarium.

For those who like gardens then visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project where are dramatic domed gardens the size of 24 football pitches. Eden continues to expand its facilities and wonders which people find fascinating . The giant domes house plants from different temporal zones of the world. The National Trust historical houses include Lanhydrock, Cotehele and Mount Edgcombe (Lady Astor’s old home) and all are set in superb surroundings. Other attractions including the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Daphne du Maurier's Jamaica Inn and Morwhelan Quay.

Fishing, riding, walking are all available nearby. Golf at Looe Golf Club is 2 miles and The St Mellion Golf and Country Club is 20 minutes away. The walk from Looe to Polperro is a must.

Plymouth is only 14 miles away along the old Cornish highway. Visit the Barbican with the Mayflower Steps where the pilgrim fathers left for America or the National Marine Aquarium. The Hoe with Smeaton’s Tower (an old Eddystone Lighthouse) and look out over the sound like Sir Francis Drake when he was playing bowls!

Summercourt offers a relaxing environment with the availability of local places of interest and attractions so you can enjoy a peaceful and happy holiday.

The Hayloft is a lovely place to stay for two adults, or a family with two children, as both bedrooms are a little on the small size, especially the twin bedroom. Nonetheless the cottage was very well appointed with everything you could possibly need, including towels, tea towels, washing up liquid etc. that v often are not provided. The hosts were very amenable and helpful

The Hayloft is one of six properties at Summercourt. It is well equipped for four people with ample seating including a dining table and four chairs. Bedrooms are downstairs and are reasonably sized - beds are firm but comfy. Kitchen is well equipped and includes a cafetière but curiously no corkscrew. The brick surround to the open plan kitchen means there is ample food preparation space. The garden area is lovely with an excellent trampoline and children’s climbing frame. The cottage is right on the coast Path and a 15 minute walk down to Milendreath beach which is nice and has a decent beach bar. Owners can rent SUP boards and electric bikes. Nice walks a short drive away including Looe to Polperro, Rame Head and Golitha Falls (stunning in October). Would definitely stay again

We had a short break, popping down to Cornwall at short notice, hosts Dennis and Joel were great when we were looking to book the property and we really enjoyed our stay, with both Dennis and Joel being on hand to help with any queries if they arose. The cottage itself was great, everything you need was there for your stay, as well as the trampoline in the field and a games room for the young at heart. The location was perfect, being a minute's walk from the cliff top and a short walk or drive down to Looe , for exploring the local area.
