The location of the place is great, just a quick minute or two drive to a few different beaches, and a short drive to lots of places to eat and wineries. We went to the beach everyday for a week and had a fire in the firepit every night. We walked to the bakery everyday it was open they have great homemade pastries and coffee (they even have gluten free options)! The place is quaint but it’s nice not to have a big place to take care of, and it has a nice fireplace in the living room as well which would be handy in the winter. The pool is a decent size too and in the heat of summer would be great for kids. I would definitely stay here again. I will note it is close to a road so if you don’t like traffic or train noise that could bother you. We are used to that so didn’t mind it. Can’t be beat for the price!! Nic also gives lots of good options of what to do in the area too and is very responsive to any question's.

Nic was an amazing host! His property is beautiful and closely located to everything that you want to explore. His cottage has everything you need. I absolutely love the knotty pine and all the rustic doors and hardware. And the skylight in the bathroom makes it feel huge. We loved having all the windows open. There’s an amazing breeze that makes the cottage so comfy. Even though it was chilly, our kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool. We used the fire pit every night. Thank you Nic for having all that firewood for us to use. We checked out Cherry Beach, which is a three minute drive from the cottage. We also spent a day at Warren Dunes State Park, which is about a 10 minute drive opposite of Cherry Beach. Both are amazing. But, Cherry Beach has very limited parking. It was a great Labor Day weekend. We can’t wait to come back!

This is a good solid home for a family to enjoy all the area and pool too. Easy access to all events, entertainment, good food etc. It was quiet enough for us while we were there too! A people pleasing place.

Everything was perfect for our girls getaway trip. Nic was a great host and was attentive to my questions. The cottage was perfect and the space was just what we needed. The pool was also a big hit.

Rating: 1 starReview Title: Unsafe and Unclean – Disappointing ExperienceWe were extremely disappointed with our stay. The cabin was dirty upon arrival – the BBQ had old food, the porch was dusty and messy, and one bedroom had a strong foul odor that worsened over time. The whole interior was dusty, which triggered allergies and itching in both our kids and adults. The most concerning issue was discovering an unlocked floor hatch with animal droppings, a chewed pinecone, and an exposed heat lamp near insulation – a serious fire and health hazard. On the last night, the smell became unbearable, and our child was so distressed that we called the police. We couldn’t sleep and waited outside with the kids until we could leave.Despite these conditions, we cleaned the BBQ, porch, and left the cabin in better shape than we found it. The host refused to acknowledge the problems and responded with insults and false accusations. We do not recommend this rental due to the unsafe conditions and unprofessional host behavior.

We found what we were looking for..something in SW Michigan where we could enjoy a quiet place to read…we liked the train nearby….nearby scenic areas to walk (Warren Woods and Harbert Preserve areas Fernwood in Niles) and many places to eat, get coffee, and ice cream. Nearby access to Lake Michigan Beach and well maintained pool in back yard for water types. Hope to return !

My husband and I stayed with our teens and their two friends. We really enjoyed the stay and we met Nick while there and he was very kind and helpful. We ran out of clean towels (4 teen girls) and he brought us more. He gave ideas for things to do in the area with teens and recommended places to eat. We liked the area and how close it was to Cherry Beach, Warren Dunes, and New Buffalo beach. There are no strong air fresheners in the home. My daughters' and I are sensitive to strong fragrances and we can't stand staying anywhere with strong scents. We would definitely stay here again!

Great Location..Wonderful clean home, perfect get a way, with pool and fire pit. Nic was an amazing host, answered all of our questions, and gave us amazing recommendations for food and activities. We would definitely stay there again and all agreed we would come back to the area. We visited all towns up to South Haven, the state parks, beaches dunes, road side markets, boutiques, and light houses. Great vacation, Thank you Nic
