Stayed Oct 13, 2024It is a very peaceful and enjoyable property. I would recommend this to a couple looking to unplug from the rush rush of everyday life.

Stayed Jul 14, 2023My wife and I stayed at Happy Place on a whim to getaway from city life in New Orleans. We weren't prepared for just how relaxing it would be! The local grocery store (20min drive) had everything we needed to grill out some food and have snacks/drinks for the duration of our stay. I saw some people complaining about the water smell. It isn't that bad at all. We brought a pack of spring water, since that's all we drink at home anyway, and had no issues bathing and washing dishes. For anyone expecting the Hilton, go elsewhere. This is not a fancy hotel. If you come wanting a peaceful time away from your routines, this is the place for you.

Stayed Oct 7, 2022My husband and I went for a awesome weekend and stayed in the tiny house on the property. We woke up to their sweet horses Cher and Breeze saying hello. We fished every day, ate outside every meal, did skeet shooting and archery. The owners made us a delicious anniversary T-bone steak dinner perfectly cooked to order and did special small decorations to make the trip special and romantic for us. We wish we could have stayed one more night. Highly recommend for a unplugged getaway.

Stayed Sep 23, 2022The property on the inside of the building they turned into a cottage was beautiful, the deck was amazing and the couch very comfy. But when you turn the shower on it smells like septic. There was no hiking trails in the woods that we could find. Fishing was great and what they don't tell you in the description of the property is that your cottage

Stayed Aug 1, 2022This was a great get away. The property was wonderful. A beautiful bass pond, walking trails, and lots of fresh air! The cabin was very comfortable and cooking was not difficult. Communication with the host and property manager was excellent. Gary, the property manager, was wonderful. He was there to help everytime we needed something but never intrusive. He just appeared when needed! He made everything extra nice.

Stayed Jun 11, 2022I was looking for a quiet place in a natural setting, and this fit the bill. The hosts were friendly and accommodating, the horses came right up to me on my morning walks, and the views from the patio were gorgeous. This is a tiny place—I wouldn’t try to fit more than two people—but it did have nice amenities. Be forewarned that the TV, Wi-Fi and cell service are wonky, which can be great if you want an escape.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Cottage over looks beautiful pond on a large ranch with abundant trees. Away from all noise and traffic, quiet and peaceful. Cottage is clean with kitchen, and large living room, with uneek stairs to bedroom up stairs. A rustic getaway with many walking trails. A walk in the woods with some wildlife, and many birds. I will be going back !
