Affectionately referred to as Tiny, your home away from home has all the comforts: a small but mighty kitchen stocked with high-end cookware, a gorgeous bedroom with skylight for watching the stars under the covers of your own queen sized bed, and a spa-like bathroom that has a rainfall shower. The cottage is nestled near the edge of an abandoned quarry, yielding unforgettable views. Enjoy coffee on the screened in porch or take advantage of the property's remoteness by stargazing from our open deck. When the weather is right, make a fire in our solo stove fire pit and talk the night away. There is no television in the cottage (there's plenty to do outside!) but we do have high-speed fiber internet if you want to bring your own device to veg out.

It's ultimate comfort away from the worries of the world.

Outside of Tiny, the property is yours to explore! Enjoy rugged hiking trails or go off the beaten path to find little alcoves and hidden treasures. Trek down to the three-acre pond to watch the ducks, geese, and other wildlife. Bring a fishing pole to catch (and release!) large-mouth bass and bluegill. Looking for a river adventure Hike down to the other side of the mountain and splash around in the 1500 feet of frontage on the Rockfish River. When the water is high enough, bring kayaks upriver and take a leisurely float back home over small yet exciting riffles. Your own private playground awaits!

For those who want to go farther afield, Nelson County and the surrounding area is home to a wide range of attractions. A short 30-minute drive will put you into Charlottesville where you can watch a UVA game or just enjoy the town. Numerous hikes and outdoor destinations are within 45 minutes including Natural Bridge State Park, Crabtree Falls, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. You can even reach out to James River Runners to arrange for a tubing trip. We are also lucky to have world-class breweries, wineries, and distilleries within a 30-minute drive. Our favorites include Brent Manor Vineyards, Mountain and Vine Vineyards, Wild Man Dan Brewery, OutbackBrewery, Three Notch'd Nelson County, Blue Mountain Brewery, and Silverback Distillery to name a few. Live music and summer events are common across the County and we're happy to help you choose the best combo of activities to make your trip unforgettable.

NEW FOR 2026! Based on guest feedback, we've added a microwave to the kitchen. We are also proud to offer packages for your stay. Simply inquire at booking and we will give you full details.

This was exactly what my husband and I were looking for in a quick weekend getaway. It was secluded in the mountains/woods with great views and privacy but an easy 1-1.5 hr trip. The house was neat, well stocked with the basics like paper towels, soap, coffee, and toilet paper, and well designed. It has a great lay out w a big screened in porch w gas fire pit. We walked right out the front door for a nice hike. Stacy (host) was very nice and communicative. I would definitely recommend this property!!

We had an amazing stay! The tiny house was the perfect size for us and our dog. Waking up to coffee on the swing while he bird watched and squirrel watched was just the peaceful weekend we were looking for. Kitchen has everything you need to cook, as you relatively remote so bringing groceries is ideal. We did go into Charlottesville for dinner one night and went to some local wineries/cideries as well which were all within 30min driving distance. Hosts were great to communicate with, we will definitely come back in the future!

This was our first time staying in a tiny home. Truly a unique experience. The place was spotless. It felt like we were the only people on the mountain. Its more of a luxurious tiny home. Spa shower is amazing. Lots of hot water. Bed very cozy. The skylight all above the bed was nice for looking at stars at night. Then in the morning when the sun comes up, use the remote to pull out the shade on the skylight. The views are stunning. 2 notes to know - there is no microwave and you are very secluded. Bring groceries with you to cook and relax. Stacy checked in multiple times to make sure there weren't any issues. We will definitely come back if in the area again!

Stunning views!! Hosts are very accommodating and communicative. It is tiny, so pack/ plan accordingly. 2 adults and 2 dogs ( with dog beds) was tight, but we made it work and would do it again!

The house was great. It's a small but cozy spot. We loved the location and the screened porch. Great night sky views. Unfortunately we couldn't find our way to the pond due to the thick vegetation. The house had everything we needed but the only thing we really wish was available was a microwave. It was great meeting Stacy and we would consider staying in the future.

Wow, what an amazing anniversary getaway! Stacy warmly welcomed us upon arrival and gave us a tour of the stunning property. The house matched the photos perfectly, but the breathtaking view was beyond words! We spent blissful evenings on the screened porch, cozying up by the gas fire pit with music flowing through the indoor-outdoor speakers. A friendly deer even stopped by on our last morning! The bed was incredibly comfortable, the shower offered a gorgeous view, and the on-site EV charger was a fantastic perk. We explored local wineries by day and savored relaxing dinners back at the house. If you’re thinking about booking this place, do it—you won’t regret it! We’re already planning to return in the fall to see the vibrant foliage!

This tiny house is beautifully designed with high-end finishes that make it feel both luxurious and cozy. The setting is incredibly peaceful and rejuvenating—we fell asleep to the sounds of nature and the distant sound of trains, which was surprisingly calming. The night sky was absolutely stunning! Our hosts were welcoming and thoughtful, making the experience even more special. We left feeling refreshed!

My girlfriend and I celebrated our one year and had a wonderful stay at the cabin. The hosts were first rate, and the cabin was nicely secluded and nestled on a cliff with breathtaking views. The cabin had all the essentials including a kitchen to cook, firepit, rainforest shower, phenomenal speakers that you could toggle inside and out plus a handful of recommendations of places to check out locally in the area. Stacy and her husband made the entire process seamless. Highly recommend!

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and it was perfect! The views are gorgeous, with beautiful sunrises off the deck. It is so peaceful and quiet with everything you need. The pond is a nice hike from the house with plenty of fish to be caught and thrown back for the next time. Our hosts were responsive and attentive to anything we needed. If you are looking for a secluded getaway up in the mountains and enjoy the outdoors, this property is perfection!! We look forward to coming back again.

Our host, Stacy, met us upon arrival and showed us around the property. She offered up some suggestions of places to visit in the area and a little history about the area as well. The tiny home was clean, had everything we needed and wanted while choosing to disconnect for a few days. The quiet of the home and views from the screened in porch were just what we needed to slow down. The serenity was magical, in our opinion. Stacy was an attentive host and I was thrilled we found this gem. Looking forward to returning soon!
