Offering the ideal combination of a tranquil rural location, yet with with a traditional friendly bar/restaurant just a two minute walk away, and the local village of Salignac Eyvigues only a short distance where you can find a boulengerie, excellent boucherie, supermarket, pharmacy and restaurants.

We are located mid-way between the medieval capital Sarlat and Montignac. The international centre of prehistory at Les Eyzies is within easy reach, as is the Dordogne River

We are now offering spacious high-quality self-catering holiday accommodation in a new gîte, within the grounds of our manor. This architect-designed conversion successfully blends rustic charm with modern style. We couldn't have asked for a better owner and property. The location was great; beautiful view, close to many of the places we wanted to visit. The gîte was immaculate, spacious, comfortable, well-stocked; it had everything we needed to feel at home. However, the best part of our stay was meeting Diane and Florette (Diane's dog). We felt very welcomed and at home, like we came to Carlucet to visit a friend. We have been renting vacation places for a long time and I would say that Diane is the friendliest and warmest owner we have met! She was always available, gave us great information, and shared her knowledge of the area. I highly recommend Diane's place to anyone who is looking to have a superb time in the Perigord area.

We enjoyed our stay in the lovely Gite very much. Diane is a perfect host and the Gite is best base for exciting trips to impressing sites and lovely places. No doubt, we will surely return someday.

We enjoyed a great week in this lovely gite, well equipped and very comfortable. The location is beautifully rural, yet convenient to Sarlat and so many things to do. Local shops etc only a short drive. Also the wonderful Black Duck restaurant a two minute walk away. Spending a peaceful evening sitting outside the gite was idyllic and so very relaxing. The added bonus was the wonderful host Diane (and Florette) next door. Whilst being unobtrusive she was friendly, great chat and eager to help in anyway. We will definitely return.

Delighted with the property, it comes complete with everything you could possibly need. It is situated in a lovely sunny, shelterd spot. Diane is very welcoming and is next door should you require anything, but is not intrusive. Floret, her dog is an absolute treasure, and was a bonus for us, as we had left our dog back in the UK. A gentle stroll down the lane brings you to the Black Duck, a French Irish pub/resturant, great food and atmosphere. Would recommend this gite to anyone.

We had a great time in this lovely rural setting. It's in easy reach of the lake, cycling from Sarlat and Canoing on the dordogne. lovely meal up the road in the Black Duck. We managed a little sight seeing too as much as can be expected with young boys but they had plenty to do and the gite has wifi to dvd etc which was handy while we prepared food etc. thanks Diane for all your help and such a warm welcome! The property was in an excellent setting, peaceful, easy for going on walks, it was spotless and there was everything you required for a homeaway holiday especially when you are travelling on your own or family. The host was excellent, very caring and knowledgeable of the area. I loved the church bells and there was a restaurant nearby with excellent food. You do need a car for the area. I would recommend this gite .

We had a wonderful holiday in the le manor du Carlucet. It's a perfect combination of a well equipped and functional accommodation and a location that is tranquil, peaceful and spiritually uplifting. The added bonus is having Diane and her very friendly dog florette living next door. We will be going back. Just don't tell everyone how good it is.

This is an absolutely wonderful property and Diane is so accommodating. The location was great, away from it all in the countryside, yet a very short drive to many sites. A friend and I stayed there for a week while exploring historic sites and caves of the Dordogne region. The amenities of the gite were perfect. We were able to relax in the evenings, make meals if we wanted, and even able to do laundry. Would highly recommend this property and it's wonderful owner!

My teen daughter and I stayed at this gite in July – the weather was variable but we had a fabulous time. The gite is rural, overlooking farmland, isolated from tourist traffic, and free from noise and activity – but still, not at all lonely. As a single woman, I am always concerned about feeling vulnerable and this is the perfect solution. The windows and doors are substantial; you can park within a foot of the front door if you like; and, despite the feeling of total privacy, there are other individuals living within calling distance. This, plus convenient access to the sights, and activities of the area, makes it the perfect place to stay. The gite itself is light and airy with clean lines and attractive, comfortable, furniture. It’s well laid out with lovely views from upstairs. The bath, a large, clean, stone room has an open shower enclosure with excellent hot water and great water pressure. The washing machine works well, as does everything else. There is a terrace for sunning and barbecuing and a large gravel courtyard with cheerful flowers. Should you get beyond the pleasures of eating and drinking, there are books and games, WIFI, and even a large television – happily from our point of view, not very obvious. The hamlet in which the gite resides, is composed of honey colored buildings, some originating from the 13th century. In fact, the gite itself has been rebuilt from the remains of a stone shed, its terrace formed by an ancient wall and gate. It’s truly magical. The only noises to be heard are the hourly bells of the nearby church and myriad birds trilling from morning to night. The air smells sweet. The night is dark and peaceful and the stars are bright. A restaurant with a lovely terrace and good food is only three minutes away by foot. The nearest small town can be reached in 5 minutes by car - post office, general store, Marie (with fast computers and printer), and a few cafes, plus a weekly market and a night market where you can dine at large tables with the locals. Both Sarlat and Montignac, major tourist centers, are only ½ an hour away, to say nothing of the many smaller but delightful towns in between and beyond. Diane the owner, is nearby but essentially invisible unless you need her. She’s an absolutely charming young woman - feisty, helpful, and fun. Her friendly dog languishes at the barrier, longing to visit and you can pet her if you like. This is a wonderful place. We plan to return soon.
