Stayed Dec 31, 1969This is a large quirky property located in a quiet village. There is a large kitchen/dining room that is well equiped. Off this there is a conservertary leading to the large garden. Also on the ground floor is a twin bedroom, w.c and small lounge. There are two staircase one off the kitchen leading to a bedroom with ensuite, the other is at the far end of the property and leads to the remaining bedrooms and bathrooms. Overall the property is comfortable and would be suitable for a large family or just a couple. The spacious garden being especially suitable for children. It is well placed for visiting local attractions, I'd recommend a trip to Eden Camp, Whitby Abbey and further afield a day at Beamish. The only negative on the property is it needs a little TLC. The sofas, pillows on the beds and general decor are a tired. The property is, howerever, very good value considiring its size. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Stayed Dec 31, 1969It was absolutely perfect for a family self catering holiday during coronavirus, very clean and comfy, amazing location, we enjoyed our stay very much. Day trips to Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay, lovely walk to Lealholm accrois woodlands and fields along the river. My husband went cycling a lot and enjoyed it too. Stayed Dec 31, 1969Lovely old cottage in beautiful countryside. Very nice garden, with good sized veranda and plenty of garden chairs. The only downside was the fact that the village is extremely hilly, which wasn’t pointed out in the brochure. This made getting around difficult for my husband, who has a heart condition, and meant he always had to use the car. The parking was also a problem; there w as supposed to be parking for two cars outside the property, but they would have to be very small! Our small hatchback and my brother in law’s larger car would not both fit, so we had to park further up the hill, where access was still difficult. Also, the loose covers on the sofas drove us all mad, as they would not stay in place; really need replacing! Other than that, a great property in a lovely area.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Such a fabulous place to unwind, relax, and breath in that wonderful Yorkshire air. Everyone was uber friendly and very welcoming. the walks from the cottage were superb, and the public transport (although limited) was reliable. Massive thanks to Elaine & Dave (cottage owners) and Mark (local garage) for also accommodating an unforeseen emergency with our car with plenty of smiles and no fuss. The local cab firm Country Cars was also a superb guy.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The cottage was a lovely place to stay and was well heated! As a group we appreciated the wifi and comfort of the rooms. It would be really useful if some little extras such as cling film were readily available in the cottage.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Lovely cottage in a beautiful area of the country Could do with a few more bits and bobs in the kitchen eg for baking Couldn’t use the stove in the lounge as it apparently doesn’t draw properly, however the kitchen stove was lovely. Some of the decor is a bit dated but overall in good condition. Owners were lovely Great value for such a roomy house, great for groups to spread out and relax Garden is great, conservatory also fab. Pub, railway station and post office/store in walking distance but still a very rural location
