Wilson Lake is located west of Wilton village. Its main inlet and outlet, Wilson Stream, enters the northwest side of the lake and exits the eastern tip meandering east into the Sandy River. Water quality in Wilson Lake is suitable for cold-water game fish. Salmonid spawning and nursery habitat is available in the inlet. A small native salmon population utilizes this habitat to provide a limited number of wild fish, which are supplemented with periodic stockings to maintain a fishery. Lake trout naturally reproduce using the rocky shoals to spawn and maintain a productive fishery. Salmonid growth is good despite competition from warm water fish species. The lake is occasionally stocked with brook trout to supplement a small native population. Wilson lake is accessible via a public launch site located just south of downtown Wilton. The property owners were very friendly and helpful. They contacted us when we did not appear due to delayed flights, and went over late to turn on lights and heat for us for when we arrived. The cabin was supplied with EVERYTHING. We only had to bring food, clothing and toiletries.

100% would recommend staying at this perfect little getaway. Great location, we enjoyed beautiful sunsets and stargazing every night. Owners went above and beyond to be the best hosts, they even took us out on their boat on our last day. You can tell they truly care about their home and your experience. Great communication and always responsive if you had a question or needed anything. House is fully stocked with everything you could need, super clean and organized. Every toiletry/soap was already on site. Lots of kayaks, lake toys included. We were able to fish right off the dock. We had a blast!

Amazingly beautiful spot and fantastic hosts! Super clean and thoughtfully equipped with all the boats and gear. The porch is serene and has a picnic table and a cozy futton. A note that for folks with mobility issues, the small bathroom space may not be ideal.

Hosts Jane and Peter are lovely people and keep their home and property very well maintained. We especially enjoyed amazing sunsets at the lake house and time in the screened in porch. We loved the Mountain Views at Blue Mountain State Park- Center Hill Trail and an overlook along the road nearby. Would highly recommend staying here.

By far this was our BEST Vrbo rental experience in all the years we have done business with this resource! Jane and Peter were the most exceptional hosts that you could ever ask for. They were kind, welcoming, a joy to speak with and very down to earth. Their rental property was immaculate, the property description was spot on, and the Vrbo listing just began to do justice to our overall visit. During our time we had ample opportunity to explore Wilson lake, the town of Wilton, as well, the surrounding bay areas. We likewise found time to kayak across the lake itself. In summary, Jane and Peter truly went out of their way to make sure our stay was a very enjoyable and memorable one. Thank you, Jane and Peter for every courtesy that you had shown us. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at your property.

Jane and Peter are so welcoming and their property is beautiful! Myself, my husband and two 15 year olds had a great time. It was so relaxing and there is so much to do right at your fingertips. We loved the ping pong table! We will be looking to go back there for sure in the future! The guest house was perfect for us and was so clean and exactly what it was marketed as!

We spent 2 weeks at this lovely little cottage situated on a beautiful lake. The cottage is cozy, clean and very comfortable. It was just perfect for the two of us. The kitchen is stocked with every tool that you might need and the screened porch was a wonderful place to eat our meals, relax and read while watching the loons on the lake. We even enjoyed a couple of fires outside in the evenings. The owners are next door but the cottage is landscaped in a way that feels totally private. June and Peter are so very nice and made sure that we had everything we needed. The have several kayaks to choose from along with a paddle boat. The lake is great because it's not terribly busy. It's a short walk into town to get a little exercise in and there are some cute shops to visit. Farmington, for more serious shopping, is only 15 minutes away. There are also lots of nice hiking opportunities within 30 - 60 minutes drive.

This is the best vacation home we have ever stayed at. This is such a unique and beautiful property. The cottage was spotlessly clean and the most well equipped place we have ever experienced. We spent the majority of our time relaxing on the screened porch and listening to the birds, loons, and bullfrogs. Hosts Jane and Peter were super accommodating and very sweet and friendly. Highly recommend!
