Stayed Aug 3, 2023The Garden Cottage is a well presented and comfortable place to stay. The wood burner makes it warm and cosy in winter. We enjoyed meals in Geraldine and at the good local cafe in Woodbury.....but could also self cater using the kitchen. There are beautiful stained glass windows in the St Thomas Church in the village. It was a joy to watch the birds feeding in the spacious garden. The hosts were very welcoming and I am sure we will visit again.

Stayed Jan 19, 2026The Garden Cottage was a lovely retreat and perfect place to unwind for a few days. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and enjoyed the fire on a rainy night. There is plenty to do locally including a must visit to the Woodbury Store cafe, Geraldine and forest walks. Thank you to hosts Jim and Mary for making us feel very welcome.

Stayed Oct 31, 2025Couldn’t have asked for a more comfortable and pleasant stay. The cottage had all the amenities, we had the fire on both nights so it was really cosy. Jim and Mary were also very sweet, offering local insight. Definitely will be recommending to others!

Stayed May 7, 2025The cottage was warm and cosy, and the hosts were very helpful. We arrived at dusk for our first night's stay and Jim had kindly lit the fire for. Lovely view of their backyard from the living area.

Stayed Nov 25, 2024Did a quick overnight on our way to Christchurch from Queenstown. Space was perfect! Had everything we needed, beautiful gardens and easily accessible. So much nicer than a hotel and very comfortable. Left us breakfast in the fridge, that was greatly appreciated after eating out for so many days.Fabulous hosts and highly recommend!

Stayed Jun 28, 2024Lovely cottage, clean, well equipped, modern and thoughtfully and tastefully furnished. Nice breakfast, lovely garden to wander around in. Hosts are welcoming and helpful. The fire kept us comfy and warm on the cold July nights. There are extra heaters for when the fire is not going. Bed is comfortable and warm too. We had a lovely relaxing time here.
