Firefly Cottage - Lakefront Cottage with Huge Dock on Quiet Cove

Firefly Cottage is even better that the pictures suggest. Much love and thoughtfulness has been involved in curating this idyllic experience. If I could give 6 stars I would. BOOK THIS PLACE! You won't be disappointed!

Cleanest property in our decades of travels. Carolyn is an outstanding host !Our family enjoyed the dock and playing numerous games Carolyn provides. We made so many wonderful memories. Very quiet gated subdivision. Our dog loved the yard and dock too. We also enjoyed nearby Brazos Drive-in (1 of only 17 left in state), Fossil Rim Wildlife (Glen Rose), historic downtown Granbury & theatre, Veldhuizen farm Cheese Tour (Dublin). Such a beautiful lake and fun area !

Had a great relaxing stay.

The house was beautiful and clean and wonderfully decorated. It really felt like a home away from home. The fenced in yard and the spacious boat dock were just what we needed to enjoy some outdoors time. Even in the rainy drizzle, we were able to still enjoy sitting by the lake.

We enjoyed our stay as always! Everything was very well stocked. We spent alot of time at the dock! Love this place?

This place was absolutely beautiful! Everything you need for a great weekend. Kitchen was well stocked, there were all sorts of games inside and all sorts of things to do outside. Whole house was very clean and Carolyn was very responsive and nice. Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect for a two-night stay in Granbury to attend a wedding with our son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter. Our two Cardigan Corgis loved exploring the fenced yard and watching ducks paddle around the big dock. The house was convenient and the beds and other furniture were comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare several meals and the dock was a lovely spot to sit, eat and visit. The area was quiet and peaceful. A fun little spot with a perfect water view!

The lake view was so refreshing! The tables on both the dock and porch were perfect!

Firefly Cottage was more than a relaxing nature focus getaway. Firefly Cottage was S'more's, fishing, paddleboat, beautiful sunsets, stunning water views with a private dock. Whether you are inside or outside every inch felt serene and cozy. Firefly Cottage offers a well equipped kitchen, beautiful decor, internet, and comfortable lounging areas. Owners made sure to leave little details throughout, and they thought of everything.

One of the best family vacations we have had in Texas. Home is right on the water, with amazing sunset views from the private pontoon/deck. House has everything needed and more, with some very thoughtful and special touches provided by the host.

Carolyn was the perfect host. Everything was as expected and we had a lovely time in Cranbury and Glen Rose.

It was so relaxing, being on the water, with a fire ring and huge patio. The rooms were also very nice and well decorated. I also appreciated the labeling the owner did on light switches and drawers. Everything was easy to find!

The cottage was decorated so cute and was very clean. I always bring a blanket to put on the furniture, so my dog doesn't get hair everywhere, but the owner had already put covers on the furniture. I appreciated that! My only complaint is I didn't get to enjoy the dock/yard during the day as I was gone all day to a K9 training seminar. It was truly lovely, and Carolyn was so very thoughtful.

Loved the cozy, comfortable, 'lake' decor. The host responded immediately to any questions we had. Everything was labeled and easy to find (except for the pantry, which was right in front of our eyes, we had a good laugh at ourselves). The host provided some amazing recommendations. Oh, and I can't forget to mention the 'cowgirl' bedroom, YEEHAW!

This property was such a delightful hidden gem! The decoration was adorable, extremely clean and smelled good. Very well thought out amenities. We were able to bring our boat and dock at the property. The cove it sits on was perfect! We will definitely be back!

Clean and very close access to the water. Great dock for fishing or just hanging out. Our host stayed in communication and although there were no issues I felt confident she would take care of anything that might come up if needed

The kitchen is well equipped with appliances and the house is clean and met all our needs. We really enjoyed sitting on the dock relaxing. The gated community also gave us a secure feeling. Granbury is a friendly town with many restaurants and cafes to choose from. The host, Carolyn, is very hospitable and easy to contact. Firefly is an excellent lake house.

The kitchen setup was by far one of the best. Appliances, cooling utensils, all items easy to find with labels on every cabinet. Down to the instructions for coffee maker and mugs that were lakeside perfect for a chill morning. Easy water access for paddleboarding, we brought our inflatable ones and enjoyed the quiet cove. Perfect get away lake house for friends and family. We will be back to try out giant connect four and the lily pad. Thanks again!

The place was amazing, Carolyn was so helpful, the house was very clean and kept up. The decor and location was great. Loved the morning coffee on the dock. The house is fully equipped and needed nothing. I would recommend it to family and friends and would definitely stay there again.

Firefly Cottage is a located with a beautiful lake view. The large dock was wonderful entertainment for the grandchildren and a relaxing place for the adults to watch them! The cottage is well appointed and the beds are comfortable. The variety of water toys was much appreciated! We had a lovely time and will return!

Firefly Cottage had just what we needed for a quiet, convenient getaway from DFW. Our hostess thought of everything - a welcome note and a few surprise treats, a well-labeled and well-stocked kitchen, helpful and prompt communication, clean and comfy beds (including a small crib), a fishing report, games and toys, and more!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Firefly Cottage! It's a delightful property! The house has lots of decor, with much attention given to the details. It's very well stocked and everything is nicely labeled. The waterside location is a feature focal point and the owner has provided some extras that made the stay a real treat! We loved it!

Great place to recharge. Clean. I’ve been several times. Kitchen well equipped. Carolyn is responsive and a wonderful host.

Everything from check-in to check out is very easy. Communication with the property owner was very easy, and she was quick to respond. While we were there we swam, went out on our boat, baked cookies, played games and just had a really good time. We are even talking about coming back next summer. Highly recommend this place.

Great time and host went the extra mile

Such a cute cottage! The host thought of everything! Spices, all the kitchen items you’ll need, all cabinets, drawers and switches labeled, large selection of games, perfectly clean dock and outdoor furniture. Our boys loved jumping off the dock using the trapeze! We will stay here again!

We were lucky enough to stay for 6 nights at Firefly Cottage. We had everything we needed. There was plenty of room for us to spread out and relax. The yard was great, fully fenced and large. We spent time on the dock and on the patio grilling out. The kitchen was fully appointed with so many appliances. The location was really nice. The evening view from the house and dock was so pretty and relaxing. We went out to eat multiple times and explored the square. We also made a day trip into Glen Rose to visit Fossil Rim. That was great.All in all we had a wonderful stay. We definitely would like to go again.

As always our stay was wonderful and so was Carolyn! The upgrades and changes that were done for this year were great! We love coming here each year and hope that we can continue this tradition for many years to come!

This was our 4th time at Firefly Cottage and we love it still as much as our first visit. We didn't get to fish this time due to the wind, but that didn't stop our fun with games, lake and socializing. The sunsets are stunning and beautiful to take pictures during that time. Would definitely recommend this cottage and I'm sure we'll be back again.

We really liked this place. House is so cute and cozy. Very well stocked and user friendly. She thought of everything! The yard is pretty and peaceful. dock is big and right there close.This hostess was great! Gave a lot of good info and always answered questions quickly. The only bad thing is it’s three bedrooms but both baths are inside bedrooms. Would be better if it had a half bath somewhere.

A group of long time friends came here to just hang out together and play games. This property was set up perfectly for the four of us. The property was well stocked and we really appreciated the cabinet labels! We loved our morning coffee on the dock and watching the ducks, geese and turtles. The host was extremely thoughtful.

My sisters and I stayed at Firefly for a weekend (2nd time for us). Enjoyed the wonderful patio/ dock by Lake Granbury (wonderful place to have coffee/wine). Caught a great tribute concert Friday night and ate a wonderful dinner in town on Saturday after doing some shopping.Very comfortable house/property and enjoyed it very much.

My husband and I stayed with two other couples, and from the moment we walked in, we were smitten. The house is absolutely adorable—every inch screams cozy lake vibes done right.They thought of everything: outdoor and indoor games for when you're feeling competitive, map pencils, coloring and puzzles for when you're feeling curious and creative and a kitchen so stocked you’d think Grandma was coming over with her casserole. Even the front steps have a well-placed rail—because let’s face it, sometimes you’re just tired, or in our case, have a few too many artificial joints to take chances!The bedrooms were equally charming—decorated just as a lake house should be. Truly restful, Pinterest-worthy little havens. The only thing we’d add? A stool for us vertically challenged or bionic folks to hop up onto those dreamy beds without needing a running start.We had the best time—so relaxing, full of laughter, and already talking about when we can come back. It’s a gem of a getaway, and we’re hooked!And here’s what really got us—on our last night, a big storm rolled through, and the host texted us just to make sure we were safe. Seriously, how kind is that? It’s those little things that turn a great stay into a memorable one.Bottom line: it was relaxing, it was full of laughter, and it felt like a true retreat. 10/10 recommend—and yes, we’re already planning our next visit.

Carolyn is a amazing host!! She gave us lots of great information, and stayed in contact. The house was nice, clean, and very inviting. She has the house and yard stocked with everything that you could need.

We had an amazing time. Carolyn was very attentive and clearly cares about the details. The house had everything we could possibly think of. The kids never ran out of games to play. The kitchen was well stocked as were the bathrooms. I’m a blanket person and there were plenty of extra blankets and bedding. The beds were big and comfy. The dock is well kept and outdoor amenities were lovely. Plenty of seating. The kids loved going out on the paddle boat, fishing off the dock, sitting by the fire pit and making smores. Carolyn let us know about several events in the area during our stay and even let me know when the pelicans made an appearance on the lake, which was very cool to see. We will definitely be back.

Fourth time staying at FireFly Cottage and we loved every visit. Host ensures property is ready for your stay and is super easy to communicate with. Lots of games and activities for everyone whether indoor or outdoor. Will book again in the future.

My friends and I loved this place! It was very clean, very welcoming! As soon as we entered and walked around the property, we knew we should have booked an extra day. The bedrooms were all very spacious, and there was plenty of extra blankets and bedding for us all to get cozy :) We had a very relaxing weekend- the kitchen was a delight to use and the paddleboat was so, so fun!!

Great beds! We loved the two kings and queen. We really enjoyed the grill and outdoor games. But the dock is the best of all. Gorgeous view and perfect for fishing.
