Esneux: Country Cottage / Gite - Esneux

A lovely property located on the Outhre River. It was a perfect place from which to visit the Ardennes area which has a wonderful mixture of history and nature. The Gite was so peaceful, well appointed with everything we needed, and our host was kind, hospitable, and very helpful. We hope to make a return visit!

We had a lovely stay. We were welcomed and proactively accomodated in our needs. Check in and checkout were easy and flexible. Texts were responsed to quickly. Would definitely stay again.

We had a wonderfull stay in Esneux. The cottage has everything you need for a week of rest and relaxation. The kitchen is very complete, with a combi microwave oven and a regular oven, a dishwasher and enough equipment to cook your own meal. The living room is very spacious and offers lots of possibilities to rest after one of the many nice walks in the local village of Esneux or elsewehere in the Ardennes. There is plenty of space to sit outside of the cottage and the river Ourthe is only a few steps away. The cottage has a large bedroom upstairs with a comfortable two-person bed, lots of storage space and racks for your bags. The bathroom is also situated in the bedroom and consists of a sink and a shower pod with lots of options, but due to issues only the showering function is working. This is no problem ofcourse. The only remark one could have is that the shower might be a bit low if you are above the average height, but we managed although one of us was quite tall. The village offers lots of restaurants, a train station, bus stops, a supermarket, bakery's etc. In the nearyby villages you can find larger supermarkets and shops. The host is very kind and will make sure you have a great stay in Esneux. If French is not your native language, no worries... you can communicate in English without issues. We had a great time in Esneux and would recommend this location to anyone visiting the Ardennes!

My wife should really write this review because she was 'over the moon' with pleasure at not only the beautiful quarters but also the wonderful area of Esneux. Our host even made a special trip to acquire for us tourism pamphlets in English, and she allowed us to use her bicycles for a fantastic ride in the country. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Wonderful, peaceful, tranquil.

We loved our 12 day stay. The house is very beautiful, equipped kitchen, everything works well, the location excellent, the hosts are very helpful and friendly. We felt at home. I strongly recommend!!

We had a wonderful time here. The gite was really comfortable and well equipped. The only issue we had was the WIFI was not working well and most of the time it didn't work at all. The surrounding area was beautiful. We hadn't realised how beautiful this part of the country is. I would recommend this as place to stay.

The accomodation is located Close to the nice river Orthe and gives you nice oppotunities to discover the beautiful region. It is very clean, the owner are very welcoming and we didnt miss anything. It also offers you nice possibilities to spend time in the garden and sit outside. All in all we enjoyed our hollyday a lot.

We enjoyed a wonderful week at Gite Biloba this Summer. The Gite is newly refurbished and beautiful with all modern conveniences. It is in a quiet location within easy walking distance to the village centre for groceries and eating out. The Gite is situated by the river which is great for watching ducks and geese. Esneux is very picturesque and a fantastic base for cycling and walking. We had a very warm welcome from our Hosts and some excellent suggestions for days out which we thoroughly enjoyed. Let us first start by saying that the owners are wonderful people. Very friendly, always available for help and advice on day trips and happy for us to borrow bicycles for the lovely peaceful trails along the river. As a family of 4 from the UK (2 adults and 2 kids) we have a nice amount of space in the gîte. Lovely views from the bedroom. Kitchen had everything you would need for your stay. Beautifully clean throughout. Esneux has a nice amount of restaurants and quiet bars along the river. Train cost €4 return for adults to Tilff very local town which has even more choice. Highly recommend the Glacé Gerald in Tilff the most amazing ice cream sundaes. Gite is perfectly situated for travel. If you enjoy driving you are only an hour away from Maastricht Netherlands, under 2 hours to Phantasialand Germany, and just over an hour to Luxembourg. Highly recommend this great holiday and accommodation to us British. Owners of the Gite speak English and if like us you have O level grade french ability then you can get by. We did not see one Brit in 10 days in any of the countries we visited either. This area really is a hidden gem with so much to do.
