Alburgh, Vermont
This gem of a cottage is situated at the end of a private road, on a nearly silent parcel of land within walking distance to the lake with (shared private beach) and Alburgh golf links. Warm and comfortable feel inside, with all the needed amenities, and comfortable lodging for 6. A short drive gets you to St.Annes Shrine, and the Goodsell Ridge fossil beds on Isle La Motte, an hour to Montreal or Burlington.
This little PanAbode cabin in the woods was built by the owners of the golf course for overnight lodging for their Canadian customers back in 1974. There have been numerous upgrades since then. Well water is the H2O supply, it is treated and potable. The home owner here stays in a nearby smaller cabin when guests are occupying the main house, and your privacy is assured.
Access to the home is flat, with parking for 2 vehicles if needed.
Please be aware, Dunroamin has well water, treated by a chlorine system, and is considered potable. Some guests prefer to drink bottled water, which we also supply.
Age 24 or over to be the renter.
Dunroamin’ was the perfect size and location for an event we attended. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There is an odor of sulfur that comes from the water, we were assured it is fine and drinkable, however we felt more at ease drinking out of bottled water. While we were at the property we used a car service that was highly reliable and professional “G & G Taxi Service.” There is no music player/radio so I would suggest you bring a portable speaker if you want to play music. All in all, we had a wonderful stay.
The house was well equipped and spotless. We cooked every night but there are restaurants in the area if we wanted. We had a great time. I would definitely stay here again if the opportunity arises.
If I have one negative thing to say, it would be the sulfur smell of the well water.
The property was just fine. We were looking for a place our family could all be together for my sisters memorial service. We basically just slept there and had our breakfast and 1 dinner, the rest of the time we were away. The reason I did not give all top rating was it was advertised as 3 bedrooms, which it was, however we only had access to 2 plus the sunroom. The owner seemed very nice however I didn't get much of a chance to talk to her, I believe my daughter did though.
We had a great time :)
