Tucked away on the edge of the idyllic village of Blisland close to Bodmin Moor, Demelza Cottage is a characterful one-bedroom retreat that perfectly blends rustic charm with modern comfort. This delightful hideaway is ideal for couples looking to unwind and explore the Cornish countryside.

Step into the inviting lounge, where original slate flooring, and a contemporary wood-burning stove create a warm and cosy atmosphere. A comfortable sofa, soft lighting, and tasteful coastal artwork add to the serene and stylish feel.

The adjoining kitchen is charmingly appointed with classic country charm. It's fully equipped with a modern electric cooker, toaster, kettle, and ample cooking utensils – perfect for preparing a leisurely breakfast or a romantic dinner after a day out walking on the moor or exploring the Cornish coast.

Upstairs, the tranquil double bedroom boasts soft linens and a traditional wooden bed frame. The room is bathed in natural light from the window, which frames views of the surrounding countryside. Thoughtful touches like bedside lamps and botanical prints create a calming, restful space.

The cottage is ideally placed for walkers and cyclists on the Camel Trail, with the closest entry point at Tresarrett nearby. The nearest village is Blisland, complete with a traditional inn, village shop, post office, community café and ancient church all situated around a picturesque village green. The Church dedicated to St Protus and St Hyacinth was a favourite of Sir John Betjeman CBE, Poet Laureate. Walkers can make their way up onto nearby Bodmin Moor to explore sites such as Jubilee Rock, Alex Tor or Roughter.

Port Isaac is a beautiful town famed for the TV series Doc Martin. Padstow is also within easy reach, as are other great places to visit including the surfing beach at Polzeath, the shopping town of Wadebridge, the Eden Project, cycling trails at Cardinham Woods, and many fabulous other beaches such as Trebarwith Strand and Bedruthan Steps. The Grade II-listed property Pencarrow House offers a fun, dog-friendly day out, while the National Trust property Lanhydrock is also close by. The immersive historical attraction The Story of Emily and the Cornish hedge labyrinth Kerdroya are also within travelling distance.

Bike storage is available at this property.

The property is not suitable for children and is exclusively for adult guests.

Demelza Cottage allows up to 1 well-behaved dog during your stay.

The building is split between two cottages, Demelza Cottage and Rowella Cottage. Please be mindful of other guests during your stay.

Wi-Fi is available, but signal strength may be limited due to our rural location.

Please note: The property features steep stairs, so we ask guests to take care. While the property is only three miles from the A30, access is via narrow country lanes.

Beautiful little one bed cottage, with log burner and stunning views. Perfect for a pre Christmas get away. The cottage was clean and the host really thought of everything thank you. It had everything you need even a little chocolate and prosecco welcome gift to milk in the fridge and washing machine tablets. They made the stay feel like a home from home thank you so much. Loved it.

A warm and cosy retreat away from the bustle of urban life. The advice to use What 3 Words to locate the property was very useful.

Small, but perfectly designed and full of real thought, art & care. We immediately felt at home, and after one week were sad to leave. The bathroom is spotless and works well, the bed is very comfy and the kitchen has everything you need. WIFI worked well. Margaret the owner seems lovely but equally leaves you alone to enjoy the privacy. Our dog enjoyed sleeping on the grass in front of the property. The location is very rural, with far reaching views, & accessed by small country roads. The lovely village of Blisland is closeby & easily walkable with fantastic church, community shop, friendly pub & village green. The Camel trail is only a 5 minute walk downhill. The north coast is closeby and can be reached in 20 minutes. Highly recommended.

It was a lovely cottage which was just perfect, we had a wonderful time. When we arrived the place was spotless and looked so cosy and inviting. Lots of household items to help us during our stay and were able to use the kitchen fully and feel really relaxed on our holiday. Short walk to Blisland inn which is so welcoming and a friendly classic pub. Also 17 minute walk from there to Jubilee rock and the Bodmin moors. We also went to Eden project, Rock/Padstow, Wadebridge, Truro city fc match, Daymer Bay. Really good to get to the countryside and see some of the beauty of Cornwall.

A beautiful little cottage. Extremely clean, tidy and had everything you could possibly need and more, it was like home from home. Lovely rural location, very quiet and picturesque. To wake up to the view from the bedroom window each morning was stunning. We went to the local pub for dinner a few times and the staff were very welcoming too. The owner of the property who we met a couple of times was a very nice lady who made us both feel very welcome. Would highly recommend this cottage.

It was very clean although rather a lot of cobwebs & spiders! But it’s such a beautiful picturesque place we didn’t mind! We had everything we needed for self catering the kitchen had all we needed to cook (we personally didn’t cook as the Blisland inn down the road was far too nice!) Bed was super comfy & bedroom had ample space to store our things.
