Cute country cottage for getaway stay

What a beautiful place! Everything was just right: peaceful, lovely view, clean, comfortable. I needed a place that felt nourishing and it’s exactly what I got.

The hosts were responsive and communicative during our stay, and we appreciated their efforts to address concerns when they arose. However, overall the experience fell short of expectations for a property at nearly 200 per night.We encountered an ongoing ant issue during our stay. We understand that weather can sometimes drive ants indoors, and a routine pest control service would likely help prevent this from becoming a guest concern. While the hosts provided ant bait after being notified, it was still a frustration during our visit.There were also several housekeeping details that seemed overlooked, including an opened bar of soap left in the shower, noticeable cobwebs on light fixtures and room corners, and a lack of clear information about where basic supplies such as extra toilet paper were located.Privacy was another concern. The rental felt more connected to the main residence than we expected, with sight lines between the spaces through several windows. While some windows had shades, the overall experience felt less private than anticipated.None of these issues individually would have been a major problem, but together they made the property feel inconsistent with its price point and outstanding reviews. With a little more attention to housekeeping, pest prevention, and guest amenities, this could be a much stronger experience.

We had a really wonderful stay. The cottage is located in a beautiful spot, overlooking a meadow and a well tended garden. Everything was as described. Sharon went above and beyond to accommodate our last minute requests. The cottage was tastefully furnished, very clean, cozy and comfortable. Don't hesitate, its special. Feels like a home not one of those cookie cutter rentals. Thank you!

A delightful cottage, and a kind hostess. I didn’t fiddle much with the TV as I got in late and had work to do. But the large painting concealing the flatscreen is a beautiful, brilliant idea! Wished K could have stayed longer! But it was more of a convenience stop to drop in and sleep after a concert and a long day of work and driving! Perfect stay - very comfortable and as cozy as described!

We had a wonderful time. The cottage is located just outside the hustle and bustle of city life. There is a nice walking trail just across the street. Our host was excellent with how everything operated in the cottage and giving recommendations on where to dine. It really felt like home and loved using the french press for our morning brew! Definitely would stay again!

I was unable to stay due to not receiving entry instructions. Host did not respond to my request until 1.5 hours after my reservation started, so I had to cancel my trip. I was told by Vrbo representative I would be refunded by the end of the day yesterday, but I have not received a refund.

Perfect secluded getaway location. House is cozy, sofa is extremely comfortable. Beautiful countryside views.

The property is centrally located between several cities with grocery stores, Walmart shopping centers, and let's of restaurants.

This quaint cottage was beautiful, comfortable and spacious for its size. Located in a scenic area, gorgeous views and wildlife abound. The dual robes were a thoughtful touch. Sharon was very responsive to our messages. Options for improvement include doubling the number of coffee cups and adding to the silverware.

Charming, beautiful cottage. We were delighted with the space and enjoyed every minute.

My husband and I have stayed here three different times while visiting our daughter in New Haven. Though the first time we were worried about the distance to campus, it turned out to be a short and beautiful drive that was relaxing both ways. The cabin is always clean and very quiet. We both sleep better than in our own home. It’s especially nice to return here after a long day full of activities. Sharon is so kind and a great communicator. Safe, pretty, and there is a beautiful park directly across the road for running or walking.

I had such a wonderful time staying with Sharon and family. The cottage is so beautiful, quiet, spotless, and comfortable. I found it to be central to all the places I needed to be (spanning from Milford, orange, and New Haven.I had very stressful testing at Yale to do over a three day period, and it was the perfect place to relax before and after (especially considering I’m noise sensitive). The hosts were very kind and helpful! Highly highly recommend.

Wonderful in every way

We appreciated how quiet this space was. It's located in a beautiful area that adjoins a trail system. You can be minutes from New Haven but feel like you are out in the country. The property is self is beautifully maintained inside and outside.

If you are looking for a lovely little one BR cottage in an idyllic setting, comfortably and wonderfully decorated space with a FABULOUS shower, this is it! I have nothing else to add - the previous positive reviews say it all! Thank you, Sharon!

Photos don't do the cottage justice. Upon arriving, we both said, this is exactly what we needed. Handsomely furnished, big windows, complete with local recommendations on arrival. We gave the cottage a nickname and will most likely find an excuse to stay over in the area again, just so we can spend another night here.

A quiet, cozy and lovely spot to stay for a guest from the UK. It was very easy to stay at Sharon's cottage. It was fairly well provided for with equipment and just very easy, comfortable and straightforward to stay in as a guest. Bed was very comfortable. Location-wise, like many American small towns, Woodbridge is very spread out, so shops have to be driven to, but there is a good farm shop down the road. Also a great area to go for walks nearby.

I had a wonderful 3 night stay. Everything was just as advertised...even better! I really hope to return.

The only thing is that I wished the towels were softer. They were very course and rough.

I loved staying at Sharon's place. The space is beautifully decorated, and communication with Sharon was easy; she is very kind. The only thing to note is that there is no stove or oven, so cooking isn't an option. Other than that, this place has everything you need for a getaway from any busy city.

Great. Clean, best shower in a while, great water pressure. Convenient to my daughter. Love the woodwork trim. I appreciate good quality construction.

We were looking for a quiet get away and this cozy cottage in Woodbridge was perfect and had everything we needed. The walking trails across the street were an added bonus! Sharon and Chris were great hosts.

Sharon was a great host. The cottage was amazing and my wife and I loved our stay there. We would love to stay here again when we are in the area. It is a very peaceful and quiet place and extremely clean. It seems very remote but is also very convenient to route 15 and the New Haven area. Wayne and Eileen Mozingo

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay @ this lovely cottage. The surrounding area is serene, peaceful and relaxing. It was the perfect location to experience the beautiful Autumn weather and foliage. The owner, Sharon was very pleasant and accommodating. The Cottage is my first choice, if available, when I travel to New Haven County.
