Custom 500 sq ft Cottage

This was my second stay in as many weeks. I have been living and working in Gunnison for the past year and a half and since my lease went up at my apartment (1/4 mile south) this cottage has served me well and has been very comfortable and private. I hope to reserve it again before I leave the valley to go home to Paonia.

Amazing location, very convenient for my situation. Very cozy and well maintained property inside and out. Located on a quiet and slow road, and close to town.

Karah and Bob’s “Gus’s Getaway” is the perfect couple’s getaway on the Gunnison river. We were looking for a quiet cabin to enjoy some late fall colors and private access to one of Colorado’s most coveted trout fisheries. This is a very well stocked, super clean, and cozy cabin that leaves you looking forward to your next visit. Only 6 miles from a lively Main Street restaurant scene and under an hour from incredible views of The Black Canyon National Park. Best of all… the fishing right behind the cabin is legendary! We can’t wait to book next season! Karen and Bob are the most kind and generous hosts! 100% recommend!!

What a lovely cabin to spend a few days around Gunnison! Karah was awesome and very responsive with questions. The cabin was absolutely darling and well appointed. Our dog loved the yard, as well. Thank you for such a lovely stay!!

Property was fantastic, just the right size and excellent location!

We stayed at this cottage for a 5 day biking vacation. The location was perfect to hit Hartman Rocks and gravel riding in the Gunnison National Forest. The kitchen had everything we needed and a grocery store was close by. It was private and quiet at night - even saw a shooting star one night. Highly recommend this location.

Meticulously clean and neat. Plenty of room to spread out and be comfortable. Plenty of parking. Beautifully crafted cabin with attention to detail. All the amenities of home. Quiet, peaceful neighborhood, just step into the large yard to immerse yourself in nature and hear the river flowing by. The yard is full of fun for the family with a swing, horseshoes, frisby golf thingy, furnished wooden teepee with electricity that kids would love or lovers would love to get away from the other guests for a little privacy or relax by the river. Definitely worth the money, if you’re not staying here while in Gunison then you’re missing out.

Lovely cabin both inside and out. Very clean, nice water pressure, comfy couch and bed close proximity to airport and town.

The check in was very easy. Kara left detailed instructions. The cottage was clean and had everything you would ever need. Very nice and relaxing. Gunnison is just a few minutes away. I highly recommend the cottage as a place to stay!!

We spent a very delightful week and look forward to returning. The cabin was perfect for the two of us. The cabin design was well thought out and, while small (500 sq ft), it “felt much larger.” Important design features include a full-sized, fully-equipped kitchen, a full-sized bathroom (with tub-shower combination), a covered front porch with table and seating for two, and a large back deck with an adjacent patio that can accommodate several visitors. Inside, the owners included several important extra amenities: many more lights and electrical outlets than usually found in units like this; several outlets with USB charging capabilities; and high-speed internet access. The cabin location near the dead-end of the road resulted in a very quiet environment. Direct access from the back of the property to the Gunnison River was a real plus. Truly this is a five-star property.

Amazing location! Just as described. I stayed here for a fishing trip and had a great time. Even caught a few Brown and Rainbow trout in the river right on the property! Thank you so much Karah and Bob!

Nice property, close to town, easy access to outdoor activities.

Beautifully constructed guest cottage, with great natural light, and views of gorgeous old cottonwoods out almost every window. The place was very clean and Karah is great to deal with if questions. So much incredible outdoor recreation in the area and the cottage is a wonderful place to return to. Looking forward to booking again.

Property is a beautiful quiet getaway just outside of town on the Gunnison River, in walking distance to Garlic Mikes. This was my second stay and it did not disappoint. Clean and modern appliances. A quiet retreat when I visit family.
