Stayed Aug 2, 2024Weekend getaway in PEI. The location is a bit removed if you are the type that likes to get a morning coffee you will need to take a vechile, same with any restaurants. Montague has good options but as they advise it’s about a 20 min drive. It was a very hot weekend and we took the option for a portable air conditioner which saved us as it was very hot in the cottage. It took some maneuvering to set up to the window but worked great.

Stayed Aug 12, 2023This is a charming and lovely place to stay in order to “get away from it all.” It’s quiet, clean, and private. Located on the South eastern part of the island where beaches and lighthouse are abundant. The River out in the beautiful backyard invited one to borrow one of the kayaks or rowboats to go out for a paddle to explore. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We stayed in the green cottage, Cuddle Doon, which was extremely clean. While the cottages are not luxurious, they are a good value and are well equipped: there is a microwave oven, full stove with oven, full fridge, coffee maker, electric kettle and teapot, dishes, cutlery, dishsoap, dishtowels and dishcloths. We loved the little screened in porch, and enjoyed coffee there in the early mornings. Every cottage has a charcoal grill and picnic table, too, a nice touch. Though small, the bathroom was well maintained and spotlessly clean: no traces of mold, and toiletries were provided, including a hair dryer. The beds were a *little* hard, but we were comfortable enough, and the bed linens were lovely and fresh. We had our two pomeranians with us, and the cottage was very pet friendly, even including pet waste bags for assisting in cleaning up after the dogs. The rural location was great for walking them; they had as much fun as we did. There is a small lake on the property, with row boats available to guests to use. Bike rentals are also available on site, as well as a coin laundry in the barn. Glenn, our host, answered all of my pre-arrival questions quickly, and was on site at the inn to offer advice on what to do and see, and was very helpful in offering advice on where to dine as well. We loved being out of the tourist mainstream on PEI, but everything is a relatively short (and gorgeously scenic) drive from here. The Confederation Trail is just a three minute hike from here, the Cape Bear lighthouse is about 7 miles/11km away, and the Point Prim lighthouse is about 25 minutes away. It is a short 20 minute (or less) drive to the Wood Islands ferry over to Caribou, NS, which was very handy, as Cape Breton was the next destination on our trip. Be sure to come equipped with insect spray and repellent, as mosquitoes abound during the PEI summers.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Cuddle Doon is the little green cottage, and was squeaky clean. The bathroom was spotless, toiletries nice, and the bedroom linens fresh and clean as well. The little screened in porch was lovely for morning coffee time. The kitchen is well equipped with a full fridge and stove, as well as a microwave oven, all kitchen linens, coffee maker, electric kettle and teapot, cutlery, dishes and glassware. It's all combined in a snug dining/living area with a small sofa, and there is wifi is available, though we preferred to remained totally unplugged on our vacation. We had our two pomeranians with us, and the cottage was pet friendly with linoleum flooring and pet waste bags provided for easy outdoor clean ups. We loved being in a secluded little corner of PEI away from the main tourist crowds, though they are a shortish (everything is less than 90 minutes from Murray Harbour, and much within an hour -- including the National Park). The Wood Islands ferry is close by, less than 20 minutes. Glenn is a fine host, and responds quickly to inquiries and offers very helpful suggestions on what to do, see and where to dine. We would come back in a heartbeat.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My family recently stayed in the executive cottage. We have two young children. We were looking for a cottage with some privacy, big enough for our family and close to the beach. The executive cottage exceeded our expectations. It was immaculate, new, spacious and within our price range. The private deck, Bbq, washer/dryer, full kitchen, huge master bedroom and screened porch was a bonus. It was quiet, peaceful with excess to a trail leading into a forest. We spent lots of time at the beaches as they were only five minutes away. We especially liked a beach that was shallow enough for our children to enjoy. At night we visited a nearby beach that was known for its beach glass. Sounds cliche but I wish I could give this 6 stars instead of five. Our family would seriously consider coming here again next year if we could. Andrew Stayed: August 2014, travelled with family

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This was so cool! We stayed here for our honeymoon and came back for our 30 anniversary! It was lovely. I didn't recognize much (it has been 30 years) but the lovely ambience was the same. Our cottage was lovely, exactly what we needed. Felt like a step back in time but with good internet LOL! As a plus one morning we had breakfast in the B&B section, it was delicious. Hosts super friendly send helpful and very knowledgable about the local area. In addition was especially pleased with the quality of the bedding. Hopefully not another 30 years before we come again Kate B Stayed: May 2017, travelled as a couple
