This is the kind of cottage that used to be all over Michigan and were replaced by big sprawling vacation homes. It was perfect!! Everything you need to get away and reconnect with your family or friends. A great stay, great communication with Host, wonderful grounds, easy to day trip to Traverse or Mack Island. I would definitely return to enjoy warmer weather and the lake!
Our stay at the cabin was exactly what we needed. It was so peaceful. The property was easy to find. It has been redone and is very homey and comfortable for the two of us. It had everything we needed while visiting. The view is amazing! The neighborhood was very quiet. We sat at the water's edge every evening as we enjoyed the view and a relaxing beverage. We didn't bring our boat but there was a pier where we could have kept it. I'm disappointed that we didn't get to see the northern lights while there so we'll have to return. The owners were very receptive and helpful when needed. They gave us ideas of sites to see too. We really enjoyed our stay at Burt Lake.
We had a good stay. The cabin was just the right size for the 3 of us. The cabin has AC but we never had to use it as the trees surround the cabin and provide a lot of shade. There is lots of closet space and cupboards. The neighboring cabin is pretty close so if you want more privacy, this needs to be considered. Curtains on the neighbor side would be nice. Luckily, they were a very nice family and had kids for my grandson to play with. The lakeshore is pretty shallow so it's great for not having to worry so much about kids going in deep water. Bring water toys!
We loved our stay at Burt Lake. The cabin is newly remodeled and very comfortable. There's a huge yard that stretches out to the lake and the sunrises are fantastic. And there's a great walking/biking trail that goes around the lake. The windows in the cabin are beautiful but it needs some curtains for privacy. Little musty smell when we first arrived but it faded when we opened up.
We had a good time staying at this property. Thank you Lisa and her husband for helping fixed an issue during check-in process quickly. Lovely place and convenient location to travel to places. Enjoyed our stay.
The cabin has been recently renovated. It is a duplex, however the other unit was not occupied during our stay. The cabin was clean and had pretty much everything we needed. Lots of yard frontage. Hiking and biking trails nearby. Located between petoskey and Cheboygan. We enjoyed our time here.
