Nice quiet launch point for all that the surrounding area has to offer. Be prepared that the driveway is very steep and narrow - it is absolutely manueverable but may be surprising at first glance.Bedrooms are comfy! Would definitely stay here again.

Everything was amazing. Great spot for so many things to do and see. Caves were absolutely something to see. Rivers plentiful with so many great views and family memories. We brought our dog and it was perfect. The only thing is the address on gps brought us to a trailer a few lots to far down the road. Look for the bear on the small cabin in same lot. It was very clean. Host got to us right away when we could not find the right spot. Kitchen fully stocked!!!!

Lovely cottage! We made a pit stop on our way home from traveling to see Mammoth Cave National Park. Everything was super clean and comfortable. I especially enjoyed the spa like experience in the bathroom. The lighting throughout has so much character. This place is well loved and it shows! Just minutes from the park. Host provided very clear information regarding booking and everything in the place (light switches, door locks, etc..) is marked clearly to avoid any confusion. We brought our dogs too. :). Highly recommend!

The reason we chose this unit is because the listing stated it was 15 minutes from Mammoth Cave National Park. This is not true. It is an hour drive to get to the visitors center, which you have no way of knowing until getting the address right before check in. The park property lines may be close, but the unit is on the opposite side of the parks entrance. This property is more spacious than I expected and VERY well cleaned. The chalkboard was cute and the bathroom had updated fixtures. The kitchen had enough for us to fix some quick meals. The AC is all window units but stayed sufficiently cool for our stay in May. However, I did not realize that another property owned by the renter was literally connected to this property by a set of outdoor stairs. It was very awkward to try to enjoy time outside with someone checked in beside us. The properties are side by side, including the outside areas with firepits. We had two kids and expected to be able to relax and let them be kids but it felt wrong to let them play as we were so close and didn’t want to disturb the neighbors. The unit itself had some strange flaws that were just uncomfortable (some of the doors didn’t open without being stuck on the floors due to bowing, the living room TV had no volume control and stayed on full blast, there was exposed plywood in a few areas).

It was fine- wasn't great for us. I expected more and the property was lacking. I didn't realize that there are 2 cabins on the same lot (nearly attached). I now see that I overlooked that in the listing. If bringing a dog, be prepared that there's no yard for them. It's a steep gravel driveway with limited grass. There's also no HVAC. Only space heaters and window A/C. The bedroom A/C never got cold, only a cool fan. The beds were not great, I thought the master bed would cave in. My husband said it's held up by pallets. The shower curtain isn't the right size so you can have an opening at the wall to get water everywhere or leave it open at the other end so you're exposed and watching yourself shower in the mirror. Limited towels and toilet paper. Hardly any amenities provided- not even something to light a fire. Most TV channels were blocked on ROKU. Not enough seating in the living room. House was being cleaned still after check-in time and was left with a smoky smell--not sure if the cleaning staff smoke and what it was that they were smoking. Once we aired it out, it was ok. Hardly any dining options nearby- have to drive at least 30 minutes. Overall, it wasn't a great stay for us.

We had a great stay here for a few days visiting Mammoth Cave and the surrounding area. The location will be much more convenient to the park when the ferry reopens, but we still found it easy to get around and felt safe in the community. The cabin is laid out well for a family to stay, and has nice features for kids. Our preschooler loved the kids nook and some of the books and games there. All the beds were extremely comfortable. The bathtub was a standout feature. We had most of what we needed to cook a couple meals at the cabin, there are a few convenience stores nearby to get what was missing, and we also enjoyed some local places to eat.The owners have clearly put a lot of effort into making this place updated, cozy, and welcoming! It's a great value option for visiting the area.

Loved the place! It was more like an hour from mammoth cave compared to what previous reviwes said, but we found it a good location if you're also going to explore hidden river cave and the Jesse James stables/outlaw cave. The host was very responsive and helpful and the cabin had everything we needed for a couple nights.

Just needs some minor upkeep. As far as furniture outside and landscape. I'm sure that is due to the popularity of the cottage. And the time of year. The driveway is a bit intimidating, with it being such a steep hill and rock gravel. It's VERY clean, and a comfy place to stay. Wanted to have a bonfire, but it rained so we chose a night in for movies And relaxing. We were very happy with our stay. We were able to take our dog when the pet sitter didn't work out, and he even worked with the last minute change in plans. Would suggest a bigger sign for the house number. LolBut the special instructions were very accurate and helped a lot.

First thing we noticed was how clean the place was and smelled great all that really stood out. We've stayed at a lot of VRBO and this one stood out. Also the host contacted me th efforts day to make sure everything was working and we had what we needed, first time for that. As mentioned there is a short term rental on the property so you may have neighbors ours turned out to be very curtious. So if this place looks good to you don't hesitate this is one of the best VRBO places we've stayed at.

Daughter & I stayed 4 nights as a base to visit Nolin Lake & Mammoth Cave NP away from the tourist crowds. MCNP is 45 minutes away on scenic, rural roads. Best thing about this rental: access to the neighborhood boat ramp with adjacent swimming area, a 5 minute walk away or you can drive & park there. The bottom is sandy/rocky, not muck. This saved our visit to the area, booked before I learned that the public beaches on Nolin Lake & most of NLSP are closed due to spring flooding, expected to be closed for the season. We enjoyed floating in the lake & enjoyed some gorgeous sunsets there. Our host was responsive the few times we messaged. The cottage had everything we needed - used the firepit & kitchen to make a few meals. The AC was needed & appreciated. Nice seating area outside. Cottage is in a wooded neighborhood of cottages & RVs & situated for outdoor views. Neighbors were very friendly. Would recommend. Good for groups, families, little ones, people w mobility issues. Other than a few steps to the door, the cottage is all one level & you can park close to the door.

It was really a great place, although the cleaner I believe it was, left soda on the table and the closet door open with keys in the lock and a pile bedding on one of the beds, just fyi. But very nice place! There is a dip in the driveway that is a bit hard on the car. But thanks for the nice place.

We enjoyed our stay with some exceptions. There was a single partially used roll of toilet paper in the house. I can understand having to supply paper products for the majority of our stay, but that wasn’t even enough for one night with three ladies. Also short on paper towels and no kitchen towels to be found to use instead. TV remotes had no batteries, there was a sour milk smell in the fridge. Towels, sheets, and pillows need a major upgrade. When we messaged the host for help with TVs we got a very generic reply and then silence. But it was very quiet and peaceful, and it was close enough to Mammoth Cave and the Lincoln sites to be easy to get around. Price was very affordable.

The outdoor pergola lights were not working & I messaged the host our first night there & didn’t hear back for over 12 hours. Then, the nextmorning as we woke up, the primary bedroom bed cracked beneath us & when we took off the mattress it appeared that the bed wasn’t properly built & was missing some screws. We used pallets found in another room to create a support under the bed which made it useable but it wasn’t ideal. After mssng and calling the host about the lights, the bed, and the tv remote batteries being out (we asked if there were replacements) we waited over 12 hours for any response and the response wasn’t helpful. Host ignored the batteries, told us to plug in the lights (they were plugged in), and offered to “come look” at the bed the following evening. To be fair, we turned down the offer of him coming to look at it bc we didn’t want it to interfere with our plans - but the bed should’ve been in safe condition to begin with. We also happened to be there during heavy rain & the door keypad wasn’t working while wet so we struggled to get in one evening. Last con was the driveway had a very large dip which damaged my car when we pulled in/out and almost made the driveway inaccessible entirely. Now the positives - plenty of space for a family (there were only 2 of us but could’ve had a few more people comfortably). The bathtub was so nice - we really enjoyed using that!! Roku TVs were nice & space was clean. Kitchen had everything we needed.

This stay was adorable. The place was clean and my toddler LOVED the bath tub! The chalk board was super fun and there were lots of cute books to read. It was easy to get into the place and to find it. The only drawback was that it is in the opposite side of Mammoth Cave than the visitor center, which is about 40 minutes from the house. However, there is a great park with a playground right near the home. Otherwise, it was great place!

Just returned from a wonderful stay at this location!! First want to straighten out some of the past reviews: this location definitely has a conventional stove/oven, second point, yes there are two units on this lot but you definitely have your own private outdoor space, there are two separate fire pits and two separate porches. The only downside is, Yes you “could” sleep 5 or 6 people but there are not enough utensils to feed 6 people without bringing your own additional dishes. This unit is WONDERFUL for 2 people. Lastly, it is a SOLID 45 minute drive to the Mammoth Cave Visitor Center. Would definitely recommend!
