Blanding, Utah
Blanding is surrounded by more National parks and state monuments than anywhere else in the country and this home is the perfect base camp for all of your adventures in the southeastern Utah/ southwestern Colorado region. Our historic home is located in the heart of Blanding; it has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. There is a queen size bed in one bedroom, the other bedroom has a full size bed. There is also a pack-n-play fold out crib for your convenience. The kitchen is fully equipped with cookware, dishes, utensils, coffee pot, microwave, toaster, etc... Everything you need to make your own meals. There is also a barbecue grill outside. At one end of the main living area you'll find a couch, recliner, TV and DVD player, and at the other end is the dining table. The large utility room has a washer and dryer, plus enough room for a couple of bicycles, hunting or climbing gear, or anything else you need extra room to store inside during your stay. Very clean and comfortable with lots of updates, yet it retains many of the features you love to see in old homes. We have big plans for the yard but it is currently a work in progress.
We've stayed at this house and other houses in Blanding each year for a decade with no problem. BEWARE! they will attempt to charge you extra for things that did not occur or exaggerations. They charged for my brother's service dog being in the house; the dog never entered the house. They charged for late stay when we were out before the checkout time stated on Vrbo. They charged for extra people in the house, when none of our extended family stayed overnight. We had my ill mother there during the day for us to spend time with. We left the house clean with no damages, had no animals in the house, had no overnight guests, and were out before stated checkout. The host was not to be reasoned with. On the contrary, the only animals in the house were spiders in multiple rooms. The only damages were pre-existing rotten lawn chair fabric we fell through, rotten grill cover held on with stones, rotten/broken mini blinds, and a nail sticking up out of the living room floor for someone to injure themselves on. The impression left on us is that they want to maintain the bare minimum and profit as much as possible even if it means dishonesty. They have the neighbors spy on you, and take their perception as reality, when they can't possibly know the whole truth.
Everything was very good except for the squeaky floors.
Anne was very responsive to any e mails. House met our needs.
This little home is in a great location to visit Bears Ears. It is well equipped. It's old, funky and quirky. We liked it a lot!
Clean and comfortable place with all the basics you need. Friendly neighbors and great access to Bears Ears and Natural Bridges
Great location.
Really enjoyed the my stay, great property and amazing town with so much to see
I was only there for one night, I had a good night’s sleep in a comfortable bed. The cottage was clean and the neighborhood was quiet. It was just what I was looking for in Blanding.
This was a perfect place to lay our heads after adventure filled days. Beds were awesome and the place was clean and cozy. Thank you so much for the stay!!
Older home. Clean. My only criticism is that the bath tub faucet drips, and I couldn't stop it. Otherwise perfect.
This 2-bedroom house had enough space, comfy beds and even a washer and dryer. All surfaces, appliances, the sink, etc. were super clean. The owner provides not just a coffee maker, but the filters, coffee, powdered creamer and sugar. They also had a drawer with many sizes of zip-lock storage bags which come in very handy when we're travelling and storing snacks, making sandwiches, etc. Each bedroom had a charging cube with multiple USB ports plus 'regular' outlets. There were digital clocks in each room, a few night lights and various other small but very appreciated touches. I highly recommend this property. We used it as a home base after travelling down Rt. 95 from Capitol Reef NP, stopping at Natural Bridges on the way to Blanding. From there we visited the Needles District of Canyonlands NP, then south to Monument Valley, Gooseneck State Park and others in the area.
Was a cute little house, easy to get too. Both mattresses have a dip in the middle. Consider replacing. Could not adjust the temperature of the house. Too hot at night. Kitchen fully stocked. Plenty of linens.
The property was very clean and conveniently located. However we were having a heat wave and the swamp cooler did nothing but push hot air around. Other than that, it was fine.
Quaint older home reminiscent of earlier (perhaps 1950s) times. Would love to know the history of the house. Clean and well-kept. The front yard needs a bit of care, but even that didn't bother us. The small kitchen was well-stocked. Plenty of towels in the bathroom. Great place to stay while on the road--like a trip to grandpa and grandma's house.
Quiet and well-provisioned home with all you need to base your southern Utah adventures.
