Stayed Jan 3, 1Another lovely stay in Forge Cottage. A perfect place for two! Cosy, warm and has everything we need. Couldn't be nearer to the Market place with shops and places to eat. Delicious meals at the King's Head, White Bear Inn, Johnny Bagdad's and Harry's Chippy Shirley and David are perfect hosts, easy to contact. We will be back in September.

Stayed Jan 1, 1March 2026 - Long relaxing weekend in Masham, (4 nights) parked up and never moved the car until we left, perfectly situated to access Masham Market Square with Pubs, Shops Cafe's and a market, we bought some produce from the Bedale Community Bakery stall which were excellent, (It's the one with the long queue!!). Cottage is very comfortable and perfectly accommodating for two people, we took our own wood from home for the log burner, however you can buy this in Masham. Planning a return visit towards the end of the year.

Stayed Jan 3, 1A fabulous cottage for two right in the heart of Masham. The cottage is very spacious and well equipped, including a very effective log burner. There are several shops, including a bakery and several pub/restaurants all within a short walk. Masham is a short drive into the Dales or across to Sutton Bank and the Moors. Easy day trips to Ripon and Thirsk, to visit the James Herriot museum.

Stayed Jan 3, 1A great cottage, very comfortable. We didn't want to leave. The location is perfect for visiting the surrounding area. We will be visiting Masham again (the third time for us, but first staying in this cottage), hopefully the cottage will be available when we visit again.

Stayed Jan 1, 1⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) Our recent stay at a charming cottage in North Yorkshire was nothing short of magical. Forge Cottage offered the perfect mix of comfort, character, and tranquility. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. The cottage was beautifully maintained—spotlessly clean, warm, and thoughtfully decorated with a blend of traditional features and modern touches. The wood-burning stove, exposed beams, and stone walls gave it a cozy, rustic charm, while the well-equipped kitchen and comfortable Kingsize bed made us look forward to the best sleep each evening. Location-wise, it was ideal. We were a short drive from picturesque market towns like Bedale and Northallerton, and within easy reach of the North York Moors National Park. There are a variety of ancient castles in the surrounding area - well worth a visit. It was peaceful, relaxing and was comfortable too. We felt like we were home from home. Our hosts were equally wonderful—friendly, responsive, and full of helpful local recommendations (don’t miss an array of local shops, pubs and two local breweries. This cottage is a fantastic choice, it holds a special place in our hearts. We will definitely be returning.

Stayed Jan 1, 1Great cottage for two. Comfortable, spacious, with all mod cons. There really is plenty of on street parking - so don’t be put off. Masham really does have everything, and it’s right on your door step.

Stayed Jan 1, 1I have stayed at Forge Cottage in Masham many times. The cottage is 5 stars !. The location in the centre of town is convenient for all the shops and cafes etc. Masham is now a very popular location on the edge of the dales, and provides endless walks along the river and in the wonderful countryside.

Stayed Jan 1, 1Lovely cottage tucked away in the centre of Masham, spotlessly clean and very well equipped with everything you need for a lovely holiday. There is no parking outside the property, but we had no issues with parking in the Market Square. Shirley and David were very hospitable and have thought of everything, maps, walking books and laminated routes! Highly recommend a trip to the Black Bull in Paradise to sample the Theakstons ale there, and the food at the White Bear is lovely too.

Stayed Jan 3, 1Forge Cottage was a perfect location for us - just off the market square with all the shops you need within easy walking distance as well as several pubs, 2 breweries, a Michelin restaurant, a lovely church and walks from the cottage front door. The cottage is well appointed, nice furnishings and very quiet.- the log burner was very welcome in the cold evenings.
