Country Cottage / Gite - Alcobaça

The hosts were absolutely excellent and gave us great ideas for things to do places to see and we’re very accommodating in any and all possibilities. I highly recommend this place.

This was farther away from Alcobaça than I anticipated. Very rural. Low ceilings, tall folks might find challenging. Very clean, sweet reception, extraordinary hosts.

Perfect location to visit many historic sites and also close enough to different beaches.We loved quiet Praia da Legua. Helio and Luciana are very nice and do a lot to make us feel welcome; bread,cake,wine and more. It was a pleasure to stay in this old country cottage. No real changes from the original build but now has all modern conveniences. The generous hosts, Helio and Luciana had left some provisions which meant we didn’t need to dash to a supermarket. Lots of places to visit but nice to just sit on the trrracr

We had a wonderful week in the cottage of Hélio and Luciana. The house has a very nice garden and is located in a small and calm valley. It was clean and very well equipped. Our host Hélio gave us wonderful recommendations for exploring the region and its history

Wonderful property for privacy yet close to so many places for exploring. Only eight miles to the ocean if you want the beach and so many historical sites nearby you never run out of things to do. Our amazing hosts provided us with not only an early check in but a freshly baked cake, a basket full of fresh fruit, a loaf of bread, milk, juice, coffee, and red and white wine that they produced themselves. We want to book another holiday here just for the beautiful wine! (Not kidding ?)

We loved the quiet and rustic atmosphere of the house and enjoyed the times we stayed in front of the house with lovely meals and especially the octopus salad made by the owner and the delicious seabass caught by the owner! It is also a nice spot to visit cultural sites like Alcobaça, Batalha and Tomar. But mostly we felt very welcome by the way the owners helped to enjoy our stay.

A very nice, small holiday home in beautiful surroundings. We can certainly recommend this holiday home to anyone who likes peace and quiet. There are all kinds of sights and nice beaches in the area. We were very warmly welcomed by Hélio with all kinds of delicacies on the table. Hélio also took the time to tell about the area. In short, for us a stay here to remember and if we ever come to this part of Portugal again, we certainly hope to be able to stay in this holiday home again.

We can easily recommend your house with five stars: the house is authentically Portuguese, super cosy, very clean and equipped with everything you need for a relaxing and carefree holiday. The location is secluded and quiet and yet you can reach the unique coast or cultural sights quickly and without problems. We enjoyed our stay very much!
