Stayed Aug 14, 2020This was one of the most peaceful and serene places I’ve had the luxury to spend time. It’s private, quiet, and provided the perfect setting for writing and reflection. The train whistles are frequent and it’s so quiet in the surrounding areas that if you really listen, you can hear/feel the pulse of the train moving along the tracks. The pond (while sadly shrinking) provided ample entertainment, with turtles, frogs, and fish all active on the water. A Great Egret and Blue Herron both made daily, lengthy appearances, much to my delight. This property is clearly well loved and the owners, apart from being wonderful stewards of such a special place, are kind and very accessible, as is the caretaker, who is a delight. This is a wonderful place to stay and I hope to visit again someday with my family.

Stayed Sep 4, 2020The home was cozy with plenary of room. The property was gorgeous with land to roam and beautiful trees. The best part was sitting on the deck in the evenings. The only negative was the low water pressure when showering.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My family and I rented this home for my sisters Air Force retirement and it was a perfect alternative to a hotel. The home had been recently remodeled has everything you could possibly need for cooking and the décor and lots of extra blankets were perfect for the chilly Feb evenings. There was no wi-fi or cable but the tv pulled in all local channels very clearly and we had a multiple wi-fi hot spots for the kids to run their ipads and phones. However, sometimes its nice to disconnect, so we thoroughly enjoyed sitting around the kitchen table catching up and playing cards. The property was really nice and if you have the opportunity to visit during the warmer months, I'm sure its even better. It was lovely to see ducks on the pond every morning and robins feasting in the sunny grass. The electric fireplaces in the master and living room were a wonderful addition...an additional one in the second largest guest room would be a great as that room gets quite cold if the doors are shut. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and we were not lacking anything we needed, a grocery store was a half mile away and our family less than 5 minutes away in Derby so it was perfect for us. The beds were all really comfortable too...I didn't mind sleeping in. We loved it and we will be back!

Stayed Dec 22, 2018I am apparently the first to leave a review and, I suspect, one of the very first to stay at this newly refurbished family home. It was the perfect place to stay for our family Christmas. We were five adults (my wife and our three adult boys) and we found the property to be perfect for us. The owners even left us a blow-up mattress for the third boy. The house is on a beautiful, 10-acre piece of land with a nice little lake and a large open field. The living room is cozy, but big enough that we hosted the extended family (11 adults and 2 kids) for Christmas Day dinner with no issues at all. All in all, it was a great week and the neighbor who let us in and showed us around could not have been more helpful and friendly. Don't be afraid of how far out of town it is. We were back and forth to downtown Wichita 2-3 times a day and it was about 15 minutes. Definitely not a big deal. The only thing that you need to know is that there is no WiFi. We were warned ahead of time and came ready to have a mobile hot spot on my phone. If you're on line constantly or steam a lot, you might want to have more than one hot spot, not sure.
