Stayed Sep 6, 2025We keep coming back for a reason: it’s such a nice, peaceful place to spend a week. You can hear, see and smell the ocean from the porch and I love to stretch out on the front lawn with a book. The owners are terrific people, very accommodating and I’m sure we’ll back again.

Stayed Aug 2, 2025We LOVED our stay at the cottage. Doug was super responsive. Check-in was easy. Enjoyed our time at the beach - caught lots of fish! Collected seaglass and heart shaped rocks. It was a step back in time. Very relaxing. No stress. We played a LOT of mahjong on the porch - lots a 9 crack tile if anyone finds it :)

Stayed Jul 26, 202514 Little Cove Road in Little Compton, RI is located on a bucolic property with rock walls, beach grasses, blackberry and honeysuckle bushes and the calming sound of waves rolling into the Cove. We loved watching our dog enjoy the expansive lawn and lounge in the soft grass after a day of exploring and playing. A perfectly beautiful escape, unlike most you will find. The local farmers’ markets made cooking a delight. Waking up to the sound of birds and waves made this stay a 10/10!

Stayed Jun 28, 2025I have known this spectacular spot all my life, as my grandparents lived a few doors away. Since their house has been sold, I’ve rented the Maus Haus twice, and it’s a fabulous place to spend your vacation. You are 50 (?) yards from sand and sea, and from the rocky shoreline on which folks big and small like to watch the waves, throw rocks, catch crabs, catch fish, and more. The public swimming beach is a few-minute drive away and offers beautiful sand and a big pond behind it that’s full of blue crabs to catch. When in Little Compton there are also many ice cream cones (check out Gray’s in Tiverton and Wood’s in Westport) and lobster roles (Evelyn’s in Tiverton and the Bayside in Westport) to be eaten, walks to take, farm produce to eat (Wishingstone Farm is my favorite in this post-Walkers Stand era), etc. And this tiny house offers access to so much outdoor space, plus a grill to make burgers and s’mores on, grasses filled with fireflies at night and a sky full of bright stars above. All that, plus the owners are wonderful. Very accommodating (they’ll let you start your stay early if the cleaning team is done early) and knowledgeable about the area (check out their great guide book to the area). And the house fits more people than you’d think, thanks to a loft that sleeps four. I put my kiddo on a mattress in the living room (as he’s not big enough yet for the loft ladder at night) and we feel this little place is plenty spacious! We love coming home to this house!

Stayed Jun 7, 2025The cottage has a beautiful setting, wonderful views, such peace and privacy. A little paradise might not be exaggerating. Fully equipped as well. Some senior citizens, particularly old folks like us (80), might like to anticipate the need to bring along a portable toilet seat raising device if sore knees are an issue. Futon sofa might be comfier with an additional cushion. Again, these concerns likely apply only to others our age. Many thanks to the owners for sharing the cottage.Bill and Ann

Stayed Jul 20, 2024We loved our week at the Maus Haus. The location is very beautiful, steps away from an idyllic rocky beach, and quiet - not an easy combination to find! The screened in porch was a great amenity. We enjoyed many dinners as the sun was setting with no mosquitoes to detract from the experience. Doug was very communicative and helpful, and the information packet about the house and surrounding area was great. We hope to come back!

Stayed Jun 22, 2024We had an amazing stay at this fabulous home! The location is unbeatable, ocean views and sounds! A short walk to the beach, basically just walk across the front yard. Also a short drive to restaurants and shopping. The home is small but all you need...cozy. It's well-equipped and exceptionally clean. There's no AC, but plenty of fans and an ocean breeze. The internet connection works well. Communication with the cottage owner was great, and the check-in and check-out process was super easy. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for the perfect beach retreat in an area that's not congested or touristy. This is a very special rental. There's a stunning state park beach only 20 minutes away, with wonderful wheelchair accessibility, parking, and miles of shoreline to explore. We're very grateful to have found this cottage!
