The Rogue Valley really is unique. The mild climate, idyllic natural setting, and relative isolation have made the valley a popular retirement destination. But it has also attracted families looking to move here for the small-town quality of life, as well as adventure seekers looking to take advantage of all the outdoor activities.

For the adventure seekers, the Rogue Valley is a virtual mecca. Hiking and mountain biking trails abound; in Jacksonville trails start right in town and offer miles of hilly and forested adventure.

There are plans underway to build a trail system that spans from south of Grants Pass to the Jacksonville Forest Park trail system, where it meets the “JackAsh Trail” in Jacksonville, to provide a continuous trail from Jacksonville to Ashland.

There are beautiful campgrounds close by in every direction, from coastal parks to area lakes to riverside sites. You’ll find world-class fishing and rafting along the Rogue River among other area rivers, and places such as Applegate Lake and Emigrant Reservoir that offer paddle boarding and kayaking, as well as waterslides, fishing and motorized boat activities.

Every year I go to Medford to visit family. I normally stay in a hotel but this time I decided to stay in Jacksonville. I am really glad I did. The host was wonderful and very helpful and courteous. The property was perfect, nicely tucked away and next door to a top 10 restaurant, Bistro. The rental was only a block away from downtown. The property itself was quiet and off the Main Street. The cottage was beautifully decorated, very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. For once, I actually feel asleep before my husband. I very much recommend this booking.

Loved being right in town within walking distance to so many shops and eating establishment. The small private patio area was perfect for reading and eating and the bed was beyond wonderful.

The Cottage is located off the main street and a block away from downtown Jacksonville. I found the home to be very clean, wonderfully decorated, private and secluded and very quiet. The Hostess was very helpful and courteous and offered information about the town, restaurants and things to do in the location. The Bistro restaurant, next door, was amazing. The food was exactly how the hostess described. This was perfect for me and my husband and most importantly, I slept like a baby. Thank you!
