Cosy cottage in peaceful garden setting - just a minute's walk to Lake Rotorua

This property was very cozy and welcoming. It was roomy and had everything we needed. One of my favorite places that we stayed in. The host welcomed us when we got there.

This property was just lovely. Our family of four enjoyed all the cabin had to offer. Fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and laundry, with lovely touches all through the property. Our hosts were gracious and generous with lovely welcome gifts of fresh eggs and honey along with other little surprises. We loved the board and outdoor games supplied and made use of the lovely yard space. Totally self contained with the hosts a stone's throw away if you needed anything. You can easily walk into this place and feel comfortable, at home and relax. Close enough to Rotorua to drive into town to enjoy all it has to offer, but far enough away from its busyness to enjoy a relaxing stay. We really enjoyed staying here and highly recommend it to families.

Rita's Cottage was perfect for our family. After almost a week of mostly restaurants, we were eager to eat in. The sparkling new kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans and everything we needed to make home cooked meals. After a day of hiking and zip lining (highly recommend Rotorua Canopy Tours!) the spa bath was great too. The Cottage is just a quick walk from the lake and a 5 minute drive to town for groceries or anything else you need. Everything was spotless and fresh and the beds were comfy. There's also a peaceful garden for lounging in the shade or eating a meal on the patio. Really a gem of a place to stay!

This property lives up to its name - it really is cozy. It's got all the amenities you'd expect from a holiday home. We appreciated the wee gifts that were left for us upon our arrival. The bedrooms are generous in size. There are two bathrooms - one includes the toilet, and it has been beautifully upgraded. The other has a great washer/dryer set up - oh and a spa bath! The surroundings are wonderful. The shops are close by, as is the lake for walks to feed the swans. We'll definitely be back.

The cottage was lovely! The location was great for our needs and the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, with close access to the lake and a great view of the stars at night. The hosts were very communicative and accommodating and came out to greet us in person even though we arrived late at night. They also gave us some fresh eggs and jam and honey! We would definitely stay here again.

One of the best kept, comfortable places we have been. Warm welcoming host with special welcome gifts of homemade quince jam, homemade honey and beeswax wraps. The setting is suburban with lots of land around with fruit trees, quail and ducks in the area and horses in the field beyond a hedge of roses. Altogether a lovely experience.

Lovely, clean and well appointed cottage on beautiful grounds and conveniently located to restaurants and activities. We loved looking at the horses behind the cottage. Communication with Beatrice was always prompt and thorough. She personally greeted us upon arrival and what a pleasure to find a variety of homemade treats awaiting us in the cottage. I would highly recommend a stay at Rita’s Cottage for a visit to the Rotorua area.

This cottage was comfortable and very well equipped for our stay in Rotorua. The host was very welcoming and communicative. The private deck and patio areas were a great feature- we loved listening to the birds and watching the horses next door.We stayed during a very hot week- the air conditioner and the screens on the windows were a huge help. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could need, including basic cooking oil, spices, coffee, sugar, etc.

Such gorgeous attention to the little details. A perfect stay. Would definitely return.

It was lovely to be greeted by Beatrice on our arrival. The little gifts left for us were very much appreciated. The kitchen facilities were superb. The location was quiet and peaceful but still only a short drive from Rotorua and attractions like the Redwood tree walk. A very pleasant stay.

We loved staying in Rita’s cottage! The cottage was adorable and the location was perfect! Everything we needed was there including towels, shampoo and even cooking spray! The hosts also left some amazing welcome gifts! The honey and homemade jam were so good! Thank you for an amazing stay!

Rita’s cottage far exceeded expectations. Peaceful, spotless, well furnished with all the comforts of home. Set well back from the main road in a gated cluster of homes, it was the perfect location for seeing all the sights that the Rotorua has to offer. Beatrice is lovely to deal with, always prompt in responding. She was on site to welcome us with lovely gifts of homemade jelly, honey, soap, chocolates. We would 100% stay at Rita’s cottage again!

We loved staying here for 9nights, it was both close and far enough from Rotorua. A very well maintained, neat and tidy place with a real country feel.The host were so lovely to share their produce and trust their visitors to take care of their place. The property was ideal for us to take our 14 year old granddaughter to. Lots to do In Rotorua and only an hour from Hobbiton.

The 2 bedroom bach was perfect for me, my wife and a 2yo. We were greeted by the host on arrival and found they had left some of their own eggs and honey as a welcome gift! Very comfortable delightful cottage in Rotorua , very clean , beautiful setting and close to everything we did in Rotorua. My only regret is not having enough time to go fishing. I would definitely stay at Rita’s Cottage again:)

This is a very clean property much better overall than what is shown in the photos. Located 5 min from the Rotorua city centre in a quiet street. Lots of fruit trees on the property grounds and heaps of toys for the kida.
