Sue and Hugh are lovely people and were extremely kind to us and very helpful. Due to the Wellington storm, our time at Coopers Beach was cut short but we really enjoyed our short stay at the Retreat. Stunning views, very comfortable, very clean and very well equipped, a lovely garden and easy access to the beach for great walks. Hopefully we may visit the area again at some point and Coopers Beach Retreat will be our first choice of somewhere to stay.

We had a fantastic stay at Sue and Hugh’s beach bach! The location couldn’t be better—just a short stroll to the beach, and the views were absolutely stunning. The bach was clean, comfortable, and had a relaxed, welcoming vibe. It was also wonderfully dog-friendly—our pups had the best time exploring and relaxing with us. Thanks Sue and Hugh for such a lovely getaway!

View was as good as it gets. Great spot fo a few nights and walk straight down to lovely coopers beach. We drove up to cape reinga in a day trip...well worth while. lovely hosts Sue and Hugh. Great value for money.

Wow! When you walk in, the stunning view hits you. Loved our stay here. It’s worth coming all the way back to Northland for. Two nights wasn’t enough.

Lovely bach to stay in. Incredible views, so lovely to be able to stay with our two dogs. Sue was wonderful to communicate with. Excellent location, just walk down steps from garden onto beach.

We stayed for two weeks and loved everything. Each day we enjoyed the sea view and spectacular sunsets - what a piece of paradise. The house itself is really nice and cosy, well equipped and felt like a little home away from home for us. Sue and Hugh amazed us with their friendliness and hospitality. We hope to be return one day.

We always look forward to our sunshine getaway up at Coopers Beach. Sue and Hugh are great hosts and very welcoming. With beach access on your doorstep and being pet friendly, it allows our whole family to enjoy a beachy holiday.

Great stay! The beach is fabulous for a great walk. The owners are very kind. The only thing that we found that was not that great was the wifi. I told Sue though.

Sue’s and Hugh’s place has a great view and stairs take one to a gorgeous beach. All in all a great place if one can do without A/C And has no mobility restrictions as the access path is a little bit tricky. The pantry was really very well stocked up and we managed to get some fresh fish from the local fish monger. Hugh set up the bbq for our use which was greatly appreciated. Three nights well spent!

Beautiful place with an amazing view of the beach! The apartment has everything you could possibly need and it was an absolute pleasure to meet our wonderful hosts. We really enjoyed our time in Cooper's beach and hopefully will come back some time in the future.

We have stayed here previously, this time we had a toddler. The beach is always a win for us! Would love to see a microwave added in please!

We were welcomed by Sue and immediately felt at home. All things needed for our stay were in a large cupboard (so much better than individual ones, thanks Sue). Bedroom with awesome view of sea and large shower room. Then I noticed no washing machine, eek I had washing to do. Sue then showed me the separate laundry room attached to the main house and undercover washing line, wonderful. Great idea. My cousin was staying in campervan nearby, Sue kindly allowed them to visit and have meal with us, which was very much appreciate. We could not fault anything and lovely to be able to recycle food and packaging

Dale and I absolutely enjoyed our week at Coopers Beach Retreat, it was a fantastic spot for us to kick back and relax while enjoying the brilliant sunsets from the deck. Sue and Hugh were such friendly, hospitable hosts and were happy to accommodate our old German Shepherd family member. We would love to revisit sometime. Many thanks. Bryn
