Stayed Aug 31, 2024Extremely peaceful and quiet. The house was pristine and had all the comforts of home. There was a beautiful view of the sunset from the Adirondack chairs, which were just a short walk from cottage

Stayed Jul 27, 2024We had a wonderful week at the cottage. Our hosts were so welcoming. It is very well equipped, cozy and has one of the most pristine tennis courts we have ever played on. We definitely encourage tennis (and Maine) lovers to check it out. It’s on our “would love to go back” list!

Stayed Aug 17, 2024We experienced all of the positives that were promised in the description and comments. We rode our bikes to the beach and lobster spot. Both are very close to the cottage and both were very fun times. We also had an EV car and we found the Tesla supercharger convenient at the Ellsworth supermarket. A great vacation!

Stayed Aug 10, 2024This was our first time in DownEast Maine. MaryAnne and Marc were wonderful hosts who took care of everything and made our stay one to remember. We enjoyed tennis and the beach on our days we were not in Acadia NP. The property grounds and cottage were amazing! Our kids gave it an A+ !!!

Stayed Jul 6, 2024Owners live next door. They were engaged and very helpful from inquiry to checkout. The place is very clean and well supplied. When power to the county went out they let us know they’d phoned it in. And yes they have backup power. We had inadvertently left an item at home. They shared theirs.

Stayed Aug 19, 2023My family of four (8 and 10 year old) enjoyed a week at this lovely cottage. The rental was the cleanest rental I've ever been in, so right away it made us comfortable. The kitchen is stocked with everything you might need, and there are plenty of towels, books, games etc. My only discomfort in the house was the mattress in the downstairs bedroom where we slept, so my suggestion to the hosts is perhaps replace it soon! The tennis court was amazing, and although we are not tennis players, we enjoyed some family time on the courts. There is no view of the water from inside the house, but you walk less than 1 minute down a private path to a beautiful spot with adirondack chairs and a peaceful view (no one in sight). We made a day trip to Acadia to hike (about 50 minutes drive), as well as trips to Ellsworth for mexican food and ice cream (86 This and Morton's Moo). There was a cool jewelry/stone/bead store in Ellsworth too that my kids loved. But we spent most of the days walking along the water. The beach is rocky/pebbly (not good for those with poor balance), but great fun to explore. We saw seals, loons, hawks, minnows, herons, crabs and more. We also ate many meals at the lobster shack right on the water (2 minute drive), where the view was amazing. We also walked to the sandy beach which was about a 5-10m walk. Overall these are some of the most attentive and kind hosts we've experienced, and they definitely go out of their way to make sure you're comfortable.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This cottage was such a welcoming and beautiful spot for our family of four to vacation for the week. The view from the water is amazing and our children loved exploring the rocky shore during low tide. It felt so luxurious to have our own private tennis court and take a little time each day to play together as a family. This area of Maine in general is unbeatable as far as I’m concerned. Still close to Acadia national park, but off the beaten path where you feel like you’re in your own secret little out of the way part of the world. With gorgeous views and delicious restaurants dotting the landscape, we thoroughly enjoyed our time on the Blue Hill peninsula. Tinder Hearth woodfired pizzas was a highlight as well as Bagaduce Lunch. Deer Isle was also a hidden gem. I really hope we can come back sometime. Mary Anne and Mark were so gracious and take such good care of the property and provided so many little extra touches to the house. If this sounds like it’s up your alley, go for it!
