Charming cottage in Michaugues, a small village north of Burgundy

Very kind People, we got a lot of cantharellen , salad a bottle of wine en we may pick cherrys from the tree. Very friendly

The house is wonderful - very well appointed and set in very peaceful surroundings. It was fantastic to be able to step outside the door and be in the fields within minutes. Francoise and Dominique are lovely hosts - very friendly and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back!

This is a lovely little house with a splendid garden in a fantastically unspoilt corner of rural France. Look elsewhere if you want cafes, restaurants or shops. This is a lovely little village in gorgeous rural countryside close to the amazing Morvan national park and some lovely small towns. But you have to drive to the nearest shop. The owners are delightful and do everything they can for you (including in our case, giving us some delicious fish caught that morning). Note though that they live next door and the garden is in theory shared (though in practice we had it to ourselves). Absolutely clean, well equipped and comfortable. We couldn’t have hoped for more (and Hunter the dog loved it too). We had a lovely stay.

Michaugues is a very small town in Burgundy. The next town with all facilities you need for buying food and other stuff is around 30 Kilometers. Michaugues is very good for visitors which like to hike or making tours with bikes. For all other purposes you have to expect longer routes with your car. The vacation house has enough space for a family with two kids (two seperate bedrooms) and ist fully equiped, included a dishwasher, a microwave and a washing machine. The landlords, which living nearby in the neighbour house are very friendly and helpful. They speaking french (of course) and a very good english and they like it if the visitors bring along a nice pet, like a dog. Although the weather was quite a lot rainy in this week, we enjoy our stay in Michaugues and can recommend this Commodation absolutely.

Great stay

The cottage was cozy, warm and inviting. We stayed for a week in October and enjoyed exploring the surrounding towns, fields and forests. Francoise was an excellent and helpful host.

Whether you are looking for the peace of country walks and cycling through gentle Burgundy or prefer the liveliness of provincial towns with all they offer, in great local food and sports activities, Michaugues is the place for you. Wonderfully situated at the edge of the Morvan, it has hills and lakes nearby as well as delightful historic towns like Clamecy, Corbigny, Vezelay and Nevers. You could not be better received than by Francoise and Dominique. They will be welcoming and hospitable and will make your stay most pleasant. Their generosity is sweet and you will have fresh vegetables from their garden and mushrooms collected from the nearby forests. The gite itself is modern and comfortable with nice views into the garden. The kitchen is very well equipped and there is an excellent supermarket at Corbigny for fresh meat, fish and other produce. Corbigny 20 minutes away is also blessed with a number of bakeries, patisseries and charcuterie. 2015 was our third stay there and we will be returning in 2016. Everything that we can wish for is nearby and we discover something new in the Nievre on every visit. Nicole + Nicos.

We stayed at this lovely house for a week. The house is clean, well maintained where you can feel at home from the moment you arrive. The owner couple is very friendly and welcoming. Only too bad the weather was not so nice while we were there and you need to drive 1 -1.5 hours to do any sightseeing. But if you just want to relax, do nothing, this is the place.
