Positives: Lake front cottage with fantastic view, Finger Lakes regional location is spectacular for exploring Seneca Falls and wine country between the lakes, quality dock allows for morning coffee and late pm sun, available kayaks, birding (osprey, eagle, & geese every day), kitchen adequately supplied, new curtains throughout, owner highly responsive to communications regarding fallen tree limbs. Needs improvement: compared to other Vrbo rentals mattress substandard for two people, not all electrical outlets function, overall maintenance neglected, for example windows in the kitchen and bedroom could not be opened for airflow as screens were badly torn or window frame was rotted away, bathroom considerably substandard by any comparison. The bathroom condition was the biggest drawback to our full enjoyment of this potentially outstanding lakefront cottage. Sewer gas emits from the sink drain as there is no drain trap present under the sink. The entire floor under the toilet and shower was in need of inspection for structural integrity. The toilet did not seem solidly attached to the floor and the shower floor had an unsettling sponginess. There was black moldy caulking around the bottom of the shower. The bathroom condition needs to be addressed if this cottage is to continue being listed on Vrbo. We chose to make the best of our vacation by spending our time on the lake, on the dock, on the deck, and by exploring the region's varied offerings.
Super cute little cottage in a beautiful location. I really enjoyed watching the sunrises every morning on the back porch--relaxing with a cup of coffee. Very nice host and communication was very good. Thank you!
We enjoyed our stay here and the owner is so accommodating and she made sure that everything in the house is working properly. This is a place for those who love fishing. You do not need a boat to go out the Cayuga lake as you can just do fishing on its private dock. But if you want to rent a boat, there’s a place nearby where you can go to. They have a paddle boat and kayak to use. The neighborhood is so quite that you could have time to relax if you want to get out your busy city life. Overall it was an awesome stay and will surely get back. Thank you so much Renee for your wonderful accommodation.
It was a nice spot on the lake. Cozy if not basic accommodations and a nice dock. I caught the end of a great season and I love the area. Close to State Park and hiking trails.
The deck area and view was very nice. There is a huge tree in front of one side of the deck that is just beautiful. It is a small place, but suited my husband and myself just fine!
Quaint small cabin good for outdoorsy people. Two large black walnut trees on the property offer much to be curious about. Just a short walk over to Cayuga State Park. Plenty of serene fun to be had fishing off private pier, kayaking, or exploring Seneca Falls and surrounding areas. Friendly neighbors.
Doorknob to bathroom came off in hand on first use. Ceiling fan rattled, light was loose. No life jackets to use with boats when assured they would be available. Shower issue not addressed that previous renters complained about - still feel like you will fall through soft, warped floor underneath. Watered down hand soap provided, which does not fly in a pandemic. No dish soap provided. Last renters did not take trash to curb. Got down to last garbage bag during our stay. Bring your own fans, but beware of dead outlet in front room. Never figured out cable and had to ask for Wi-Fi info because what was listed was old. Bunk beds were uncomfortable. Bedding decor was catch-22, if you used it, you were charged. No bath mat provided. Less decorative items, more room for storage and belongings needed. Hooks needed in bathroom to hang items. Sink in kitchen is too shallow for faucet, you will get wet. Reached out to owner several times during our stay, nothing addressed. Overpriced for what it is.
Awesome deck, dock and use of the kayaks. Great location and lots to do in the area Liked the adult slushies and Wolfie's down the road was great highly recommend.. The cabin is nothing fancy but had everything you need. Would certainly go back!
This worked well for the 2 of us. Great location, nice deck and dock and the cottage had all of the necessities. Just wish it hadn't rained all week!
This is a very quaint cottage from yesteryear. Small and comfortable for two people. (It can sleep up to 5 if needed) The view was awesome, was located perfectly - near many state parks (one a quarter mile down the road), Seneca Falls only 5 miles away, etc. Very pleased it has 2 kayaks and a paddle boat, which we enjoyed immensely throughout the week. Our host, Renee, was very nice and always communicated in a timely manner. We had an issue and Renee responded with the hour to work on the solution. She was in touch to be sure everything was “ok”. Very, very nice and will consider renting again in the future.
