The casa is beautiful overlooking the sea (you are very close to water)... It is very calm and relaxing... There are few restaurants in the sector... You need a SUV or equivalent car to circulate in the area...

We had a fantastic stay here. Very private, and a dramatic setting on the beach. The host was especially helpful and had lots of excellent tips.Would love to stay. here again!

We had a wonderful stay at Casita Tortuga! Brian and Lucy are great hosts! They were responsive to our needs and gave us suggestions to make our adventures better. The Casita is beautiful - located right on the beach with an amazing view from the wall of windows facing the ocean. It's the perfect getaway for 2 people. Sunrises and moonrises were amazing. The Casita is vey well equipped with whatever you need for cooking and dining, and Los Barilles is just a few minutes away for plenty of dining options. Snorkeling to the north is excellent. Definitely recommend renting an ATV for at least some of the time you are here - there's a wonderfully scenic road that parallels the ocean for miles and it's a great drive, with snorkeling spots and places to eat as you head north.

Amazing stay for our second time in 3 years!

Casa Tortuga was the perfect stay for my husband and I. The location and views were ideal. Very tranquil area. The water is right outside your door. The water is so calm you can easily kayak all around. If you’re looking for quiet and slightly removed from the town this is perfect. The owners were wonderful and gave us great recommendations for things to do. Can’t wait to return.

In all our years of traveling, Casita Tortuga is definitely our favorite spot! The casita was spotlessly clean, perfectly equipped, and has the most gorgeous views of the Sea of Cortez. It is the perfect destination for a couple looking to get away from the busy crowds of Cabo San Lucas to relax and a prime location for exploring the many beauties and hidden beaches located on the East Cape. We thoroughly enjoyed the sunrise each morning from the front porch along with the sights and sounds of watching the mobula rays jump, twist, turn, flip, and flop atop the bay each day. We were even lucky enough to watch a humpback whale one morning just offshore as it repeatedly slapped the water with its large flippers. The kayaks were a perfect complement for exploring the crystal-clear waters and paddling out along the shore was definitely one of the highlights from our trip. Unfortunately, the days went by way too fast, and now we’re left dreaming of when we can come back for another visit.

Casita Tortuga is a charming, classy place for a couple to take in all that the Sea of Cortez has to offer just outside of Los Barriles.It's right on the water -- making it easy to enjoy the jubilant mobula rays, breaching humpback whales, sea birds, sunrise, and stars. It's also a great place from which to snorkel and kayak. For people who enjoy birding, as we do, you will appreciate that the well kept gardens and fruit trees attract a range of non-sea birds too.The hosts are responsive both before and during the stay. Our check in and check out went seamlessly.I really appreciate that the Casita is available for couples looking to rent a private place. Most VRBO homes are appropriate for 4 people, so you end up paying for empty space.We like to cook with fresh local ingredients, and appreciated that the kitchen is well stocked. I'd recommend Casita Tortuga to anyone looking for a special trip to the Gulf of California.

Gorgeous place to get away from it all, and we loved the kayaks! Definitely bring water shoes for the rocky shoreline. A/C in the bedroom works great, but be prepared to acclimate to the heat and enjoy the ocean breeze. A fan for the house or patio would be be a nice addition, but otherwise everything was wonderful! Jonatan, the property manager was super responsive and helpful, and we loved having the kitchen and grill to cook and enjoy meals to the sounds of the waves.
