Casa Grande Carlota -Terras de Bouro (Casa de Campo) with Wi-Fi

We spent a wonderful 6 days at Casa Grande Carlota. Antonio was very helpful with any enquiries we had before our trip and we were greeted warmly on our arrival. The house is exactly as described - or even better. We were amazed at how well equipped it was. The pool is great and there are so many different areas to sit and relax both inside and outside. The covered barbecue area/outdoor kitchen is brilliant and we ate out there every night. There is a very good supermarket in Terras de Bouro. The property is perfectly situated between the historic city of Braga and the stunning Geres National Park where we hired a boat on Lake Canicada. We just wished we could have stayed longer.

We recently stayed at this holiday home and had a generally pleasant experience, enjoying the nice pool and lovely views. The area is predominantly focused on nature tourism, hiking, and outdoor activities. If you’re looking to entertain kids or visit major towns and attractions, be prepared for a substantial drive. However, if you seek a tranquil retreat off the beaten path where you can immerse yourself in the natural beauty of this picturesque part of Portugal, this could be the ideal spot for you.

Super house in a beautiful setting. It has everything you need, plenty of room, peace and quiet. Coming back to the house after a long day of hiking in Geres was just perfect. The hosts are super warm and friendly, they even started us off with a gift basket of eggs, wine, bread, and pastries. Antonio could not have been a better host. The kitchens (indoor and outdoor) are well equipped. There is a grocery near by and a fabulous restaurant called O Vaticano just 5 minutes down the road. Highly recommend this house!

This house is amazing. The photos on here don't do it justice. The views are incredible and it's got everything you need for a perfect family holiday. We loved the pool and garden and the outside BBQ cooking area. We swam in the nearby river every day and went hiking on the public routes when it was cool enough. Antonio and Isabel were great hosts, welcoming us on arrival and leaving some nice gifts. Antonio also helped us to organise the vet appointment for our dog before we left. We went to the lake one day, but it was too busy to even park and too hot to walk far with the dog. We drove rpund the area and saw fantastic scenery and picturesque villages. The access to the house is through a very narrow entrance way and some of the roads are steep and narrow. Our kiss are grown up so I'd say this house suits families with older children. Overall we had a lovely time and would like to return soon. Thank you Antionio and Isabel.

We lived in the house for a week in June. It was a very nice house, artistically decorated. Clean and nice, paved with beautiful linens. Both the house and the garden was completely private. In the garden, the pool had a nice view of the valley and hills. The village will be a daily bread van and sometimes a car with fish to shop from. 10 minutes by car to the Terras de Bouro, where there is an Inter Maché and some restaurants. Close to nature park Peneda Generes, rivers and Cascata and many places that are exciting to visit and hike. For instance from Ermida to Bilhares and back to Ermida via an ancient road paved with old Romanian stones. Also by car you can visit some exiting places as Miradouro da Pedra Bela and Cascata da Portela do Homem Cascata de São Miguel in National Park Portela do Homem. Obrigada Antonio and Isabel

We had an amazing stay at Casa Grande Carlota. The house has everything you could need. Antonio and Isabel are wonderful hosts who welcomed us on arrival, a great location for walking or relaxing around the house and garden. Fantastic views of the hills and just a very short drive to the town. A perfect getaway and we are already looking forward to coming back.

All very well equipped lovely and clean and hosts were perfect. We would definately like to visit this place again.....lovely neighbours who sold fresh vegetables and also local bread van visited twice daily. Villa was superb....

This villa was perfect for our family. The area is beautiful and easily accessible from Porto. The house is spacious and well appointed with many different places to sit and eat, the views were lovely, and the local restaurant (Adega Regional O Vaticano) is one of the best in Portugal. The sounds of the local farm animals and church bells were the perfect accompaniment to our holiday. We can't wait to return!

Large, spacious & private house and garden in a beautiful setting with very friendly hosts.

We had a wonderful week at Casa Grande Carlota in June 2017. Antonio and Isabel's warm welcome after a long journey set the tone for the week. The accommodation is perfect and such a beautiful location, surrounded by orange trees, a wonderful view and we loved the sheep and chickens roaming in the fields next door. The swimming pool was a great size and the kids spent their days in and out of the pool, with plenty of shade options for when the sun was too hot. I've stayed at Self Catering apartments before and always find myself buying something that is missing, but this was not the case here, everything is considered from bath and pool towels, soaps/shower/bath creams to plenty of toilet rolls, some well loved toys for the children and all the kitchen utensils you can think of! Unless you have Sat Nav the location maybe a little tricky to find, we did do it without Sat Nav and just a map, we did have to ask at the local Taberna for the final few directions, they were very helpful and we were literally 2 minutes away from Casa Grande Carlota. Once there Terras De Burro is great for food/drinks we used the smaller supermarkets as well as the larger supermarket next to the Petrol Station. The Vatican Restaurant near Casa Grande Carlota was also very welcoming and had delicious food. We also visited Lake Canicada, which is only 30 minutes drive away and had a great time on the lake. Would highly recommended, didn't want to leave and would love to visit again. Thank you Antonio and Isobel.
