Stayed Dec 23, 2024Our first christmas away with the kids and two friends. We arrived late evening and had to change the batteries in the fire alarm. But we didn’t initially complain about this because we are not usually the moaning type. The next morning we explored the property more, we went down to the sauna and hot tub area which although was nice we were greeted by a broken shower which had a high pressure constant leak. Which meant we couldn’t use the facilities properly in that area. We then contacted josh and he said he would get his maintenance team on it asap. We thought great no more drama we can enjoy ourselves. However this wasn’t the end of it. Josh then told us to stop the leak by using a knife instead of sending the team, i tried this which slightly worked but water kept coming out. Two more days went by with no resolution for the fault we then told him the leak was worse and it was kicking out really hot water and his response was, i can’t believe you have not stopped the leak. which is absolutely shocking when we paid just under 3k for our stay. This leak then effected the pressure in the house which meant we had no hot water for the kids to shower in, the washing machine kept saying a fault code, the toilet also wouldn’t fully flush and to top it off the seat was faulty. The shower was not fixed until the last evening even tho he promised it would be done much sooner. No apology or offer of partial refund and still ongoing. Stayed Apr 21, 2023My very first impression was a surprise when the hosts preferred to give us the exact address later on in order to protect the privacy of their guests. Very professional, I thought. I really wanted to find an authentic, traditional Finnish cottage next to a lake. I was very excited about how well organised the sauna area is. As an interior designer, I really appreciate the effort put into making the spaces as cozy as possible, caring about all the details to make them even more enjoyable. That is exactly what Josh & Satu do. The devil is in the details, and they know it very well. For instance, you have at your disposal essential oils to create a richer sauna experience and Italian extra virgin olive oil to make your food tastier. It is worth mentioning that our dog has been so happy playing around and roaming the massive, fully-fenced backyard freely. They even had the warmth to give a new toy as a present to our dog to welcome his stay. A perfect sleep is 100% guaranteed. The location is super quiet. The cottage is in a residential area full of harvest fields, and all you can hear are birds singing tucked into super smooth and fluffy bed linen, high-quality pillows, and a dreamy mattress. If you want to rest and really understand why Finland is the happiest country in the world, Casa Salo is really your place! Thank you very much for making our guest experience so fantastic.
