Come enjoy our 1,500 sq. ft. lake house on Kangaroo Lake. This home maintains its original 1940's cottage charm with the classic Door County stone fireplace(non functioning), cedar walls, and wood floors. The house comfortably accommodates 8-12 guests with 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. The dining room has a lakeside view and seating for 12. There is plenty of space for outdoor dining, lawn games, and relaxing. *Satellite TV and WiFi provided*.

The first floor master bedroom has aqueen size bed, its own private bathroom and a patio facing the lake. The upstairs has 3 bedrooms and another full bathroom. The first bedroom has 2 twin beds, the second bedroom has a full bed, and the large third bedroom which faces the lake has a queen size bed and full futon. There is also a queen size sofa bed in the living room and a half bathroom on the first floor. The fireplace is beautiful but not functioning.

Kangaroo Lake is an 1,156 acre, spring-fed lake with a maximum depth of 12 feet. Catch fish from the dock, causeway or one of the boats provided (canoe, kayak, paddle board, and fishing boat). The lake's sandy bottom is ideal for wading and playing in the water. The water temperature is nice and warm around 15 degrees warmer than Lake Michigan.

*The dock will be put in around May 20th and will be taken out around October 15th each year. If you choose to stay prior to May 20th the dock and fishing boat will not be available. The canoe, kayak, and paddleboard will still be available to use.*

The lake house is just minutes away from a golf course, restaurants, breweries, wineries, shops, and entertainment. There is much to do in Door County, but you may be content to spend the day at the lake house, playing in the water, boating, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, or just relaxing. At the end of the day enjoy watching the sun set over the lake or sitting by the campfire.

This place is great for families with small children as we do provide pack'n play, stroller, and booster seat for your convenience.

The lake house books quickly. Contact us today to reserve your lakeside vacation.

Property was well equipped. Enjoyed the outdoor space (patio and fire pit). Great get away for a girl's hiking trip.

Spacious traditional wooden cabin with a nice quiet setting on Kangaroo Lake. Adequate amenities (including for cooking meals) for a family and for a week of vacation. Well located adjacent to a somewhat busy road, but close to the center of Baileys Harbor. Upon arrival, we noted that the home was not fully cleaned, which we notified the owners. Additionally, the small motor boat was missing its propeller (unknown before arrival) and the part was on order (discovered after consulting the owners). The garage door was left open due to accidental cutting of the electrical wires, which we found out after we notified the owners as well. The house is listed as having air conditioning, but technically there is only one window unit in the upstairs bedroom with two beds. Due to the unusually cooler climate during our week; this wasn’t a problem. However, I could see the house being fairly hot during primetime summer. The family used the canoe and kayaks when able (pretty windy during our stay). We enjoyed the option for fishing on the dock (we brought our own equipment), grilling outside, as well as the nearby campfire. Overall, we had a good week.

Very peaceful and quiet lakeside cottage. We specifically enjoyed the kayak, paddle boards, fishing from the dock, and fires in the outdoor fire-pit. The location near Bailey’s Harbor was great and it’s only about 15 min to the other side of the peninsula and other towns. Check in and out was easy. The only minor drawback is cellphone and internet was slow due to the location so if you need connectivity then that could be a concern. We would definitely return again to this property.

We vacationed on Kangaroo Lake every summer for 20 years at another place— East Shorewood Cottages. We loved it, but it was summer only and the cottages are small. It was wonderful to revive memories of a beloved lake in this wonderful house, large enough for our adult children and partners. We had some WiFi issues, but Ryan was super responsive. Highly recommend.

This cute house was home base for our group as we explored Door County. Roomy, cozy, and lake beauty every day. Loved it!

The property is amazing, and very well maintained. The only thing I would change is that towels be included. I hadn’t read the description closely enough and we had to make an emergency shopping trip to get towels. I can’t really understand why this wouldn’t be included in the amenities. I personally wouldn’t want to pack towels for a large family. This, to me, is a basic amenity. Other than that it was a perfect stay!!

Our family of nine very much enjoyed the stay, our second year in a row here. The lake is clear and beautiful! Some people fished from the rowboat, while others used stand up paddle boards and still others kayaked. It's close to good hiking, and the bicycling was excellent -- nicest roads I've encountered anywhere with very little traffic. The kitchen is over-stocked with small to medium cookware, so we usually bring a large stockpot, a couple of loaf pans, and a large bowl for salads, etc. Other than that, it has everything we needed.
