Experience one of CT's most desirable and family friendly shoreline areas - Mulberry Point (a private association) in historic Guilford. This special spot provides a little bit of Maine-like coast close to New York complete with craggy shore, tide pools, protected private sandy beach (perfect for children) and cove. This winterized cottage sits on a bluff overlooking one of the most picturesque views in CT - from the sun room, gaze at Faulker's Island Lighthouse amid the expanse of blue sea and sky. Come - swim at the beach just steps down the road, fish from the rock jetty, walk along the shoreline roads and nearby trails. The area is a kayaker's paradise - paddle around the rocky and sandy shoreline, marshes, and more than 30 islands off Stony Creek which is just 5 mins away by car. Our historic town offers the best of New England charm and amenities.

Cottage: This is a bright and clean cozy cottage. The bathroom is newly renovated and the kitchen has been recently updated and offers plenty of storage with a new fridge/freezer and dishwasher. It is one level living so great for kids or elderly. The sun porch offers spectacular views and has a seating area an eating area. Ceiling fans and sea breezes will keep you comfortable and we offer a window air conditioner for very hot days in summer and in winter enjoy baseboard heat and fireplace. Listen to the waves lapping against the rocks from the open windows!

Neighborhood: Mulberry Point Association is a quiet and charming, summer-loving, neighborhood with plenty of lovely walking areas, all with spectacular views. The small private sandy beach area has a floating swim dock and tide pools to explore. It is protected with rocky reefs so is ideal for small children. The Town Green is only 2 miles away.

Town: Less than two miles away is the historical town green surrounded by boutique shops, excellent restaurants, an Irish pub, toy shop, small grocery shop, ice cream and chocolate shop, craft and jewelry stores, hardware store, churches, town library, town hall, bookstore, post office, etc. Summer concerts on the green, craft fair, live theatre all add to the fun summer atmosphere. The Henry Whitfield State Museum is steps from the town green. Built in 1639, it is the oldest house in CT. Entrance to Westwoods hiking trails are about a mile from the cottage and offer the largest recreational area for hikers in Guilford with 39 miles of trails on 1200 acres. There are two scenic roads intersecting Guilford which are utilized by cyclists and road races in the summer. The towns of Madison, Branford and Stony Creek are destinations also, each offering a unique flavor of historical New England charm and all within 10 mins of the cottage.

A wonderful clean and comfortable house with a fantastic view Ceiling fans and air conditioners aplenty as they were much.needed in the 100 degree weekend!Extra benefits? Dishwasher! Washer and dryer!!! And two jkyacks on the lovely association beach minutes away. One uncomfortable issue ? The driveway and the need to backdown very carefully into the main road.I wish I had met the owner in person but she was always available via text!

Our family enjoyed every moment of our time at Rose Cottage! Located on a quiet street with stunning views of the water, it was immaculately clean and thoughtfully well-supplied. Monica was a wonderful host, she was so welcoming and available to answer any questions and check-in and check-out were a breeze. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again, thank you Monica for a perfect stay!

Rose Cottage is a gem. The cottage is clean and beautiful, well laid out and well appointed. You can feel the thoughtfulness of the hosts in all the little touches like coffee options in the cupboard and luxurious bedding and towels. Great place to decompress from the busy world. Thank you, Monica! Well done.

The house was beautifully arranged and kept, tasteful and comfortable. The enclosed front porch looking out on the water was a great asset. The neighborhood was comfortably walkable and there were hiking trails nearby as well as a charming village and restaurants with easy food. Our hostess was gracious and available for questions, even ahead of our arrival.
