Perfect for Star gazers this remote detached farmhouse is situated in a lovely area full of wildlife and bird life including red kites, with extensive uninterrupted views on the edge of heather moorland. It is reached by a good hard track of about 2 miles.
The house is located between Loch Stroan and Loch Skerrow which allow free fishing for holiday-makers staying at Airie Farm, while Loch Ken is also close by where prescribed fishing rights are also available to Airie guests. Loch Ken isalso a popular centre for other water sports including canoeing, sailing and water skiing; for the fit and adventurous open water swimming events are held from time to time.
Local amenities include: Galloway Forest Park affording 300 square miles of Walking, Cycling, Riding and Trekking; Galloway Activity Centre and Loch Ken Marina, both of which are on Loch Ken; several challenging Golf Courses, including New Galloway Golf Club. Troon and Turnberry are just an hours drive away.
Direct pedestrian access to the Galloway Forest Park, designated as Britain's first 'Dark Sky Park', is available making the decision to leave the car an easy one. Ideal for that 'away from it all' holiday.

    We had a wonderful week with our children and dog in this beautiful farmhouse. The location is incredible - 2 miles up a disused railway track - a brilliant spot to do nothing but walk, swim and watch the house martins swoop for the midges and build up their mud cup nests below the eaves.
