Fabulous location off the beaten track and yet close to Castle Douglas. Peaceful surroundings and beautiful views. Well equipped house and great communication with owners. Good centre for exploring this fantastic part of Scotland.

We had a great stay at Field Cottage. The location was perfect for exploring the area which we did despite the weather being somewhat wet! The cottage itself was clean and comfortable and the hosts were helpful and easily accessible if needed. We loved the peacefulness of the surroundings and wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Field Cottage is spacious and very charming. The views from the front and the back of the property are wonderful. It's such a lovely place to stay in. Whilst the attractive towns of Castle Douglas and Dalbeattie are great to visit, the cottage is also an ideal base to visit Dhoon beach, Kirkcudbright, Wigtown, Carsethorn, Sandyhills, Kippford, Rockcliffe, Southerness, New Abbey, the Isle of Whithorn, Caerlaverock Castle and Drumlanrig Castle. The hosts are fab. They also very kindly left 'welcome gifts!' Thanks so much.
