Location, Location, Location!! Imagine relaxing on a beautiful secluded mile long beach all to yourselves! We are Absolute Beachfront (not across a busy, noisy road or up a hill.)

Our holiday bungalow cottage with large private saltwater pool is located in lovely Sekawa Beach Estate, a small park-like estate hidden a half mile from the main road and tucked away along a mile long secluded beach on the north shore of picturesque Savusavu Bay on Fiji's second largest and virtually undiscovered island of Vanua Levu. Take a step back in time and discover the tropical beauty and peacefulness of a 'hidden paradise' that most visitors never see!

Awaken to a chorus of tropical birds and gentle waves lapping just steps from your bungalow cottage. Gaze at the tranquil waters of lovely Savusavu Bay from your bed or take an early morning stroll along the long powdery soft sand beach to hunt for interesting shells.

Enjoy a refreshing dip in your large 11' X 21' private saltwater pool or the shallow warm waters out front in Savusavu Bay. Take a peaceful walk through our beautifully landscaped tropical gardens and lily ponds and spy some of Fiji's most colorful birds such as the Collared Lory, Fiji Parrotfinch, and Fiji's rare Orange Dove. Snorkel at colorful coral reefs teeming with tropical fish just offshore in Savusavu Bay or kayak up the nearby Nasekawa River, floating past virgin jungle and small native settlements. The rest of the day can be spent lounging on the large verandah or relaxing in our oversized lover’s hammock under the palms as the gentle breezes lull you into total relaxation. Enjoy a relaxing massage given out in the beachfront bure with only the sounds of waves & birds in the background. Take a nap, read a book or just watch the clouds drift by.

Do as much or as little as you like! Our traditional Fijian 'bure' is the perfect place to end each day with 'happy hour' spent watching a spectacular sunset framed by the surrounding jagged volcanic peaks as the lights of Savusavu twinkle from across the bay and the Southern Cross rises in the clear starry sky.

Staying with us offers you the rare opportunity to personally meet the friendly Fijian villagers that often come to the beach to fish for their daily catch. It is a truly memorable sight watching a group of ladies fish with their large nets or float by on a bamboo 'bilibili' raft, just as their ancestors have done for hundreds of years. The ladies will be delighted to show you how they weave a basket, hat or fan from a palm frond.

Enjoy peace & quiet! Our bungalow cottage is on town power so there is no constant generator hum. However, we do have generator back up if power should go out briefly.

If your idea of the perfect getaway is to 'entertain each other' rather than 'be entertained' our relaxing Tropic Splendor beachfront cottage is the ideal place to enjoy your Fiji holiday!

We are full licensed by the Fiji Hotel Licensing Board and a member of the Fiji Islands Hotel & Tourism Association and Savusavu Tourism Association.

Amenities: Our beautiful beachfront cottage with 600 square feet of interior space and a 600 square foot spacious verandah is fully self-contained. Polished native hardwood floors and natural wood interior are decorated with authentic native Fijian handicrafts made by local craftsmen.

Beautiful property (my spouse is a horticulturist and he called the grounds “eye candy”) . The people, true Fijian hospitality. The beach, kayaks, and walks as well as swims in the lovely pool. It has everything and more, in a tropical island paradise. Oh, and the most beautiful sunsets in the world!!!!!

We were celebrating a very special occasion. We wanted a beautiful, unique, memorable vacation to celebrate it. We got one. Thank you Alex & Avi for making your beautiful cottage available to us, and for your hospitality. We simply can't say enough good things about our stay. Want the sound of the waves to lull you to sleep every night? You'll get it here. Want to sit on the huge roofed porch and watch a tropic storm go by? Check. Stargazing on the beach...you got it. It's gorgeous, very quiet, very private, and extremely relaxing. Town is a shortish taxi ride away when you need to go in, but you're in another world at the cottage. If you're looking for something other than the resort experience in Fiji, STAY HERE. You will not be disappointed. I would like to add that if you are at all into birds - even a casual interest - the area around the cottage is outstanding birdwatching. We saw a dozen or more species endemic to Fiji, including the orange dove!

Spent 2 weeks here and had a lovely time. Avi and Alessandro are wonderful hosts and made sure we were never missing anything :) The grounds themselves are lovely; you can hear the surf from the cabin -- and the pool is especially nice!

The property is as advertised and the reviews from other travellers accurate. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because of the directions provided. The Google Map link provided sent us to a location several km's away. The only way we were eventually able to find the correct location was to search for the Emaho Sekawa Retreat which fortunately we knew was nearby. I can only assume most other visitors arrive by taxi from Savusavu as local drivers will be familiar with the location. For those driving as we were, the access road has no signs except the words 'private road'. This info should be included in the directions, and advising the names of the villages on either side of the 'private road' would also be helpful. This accommodation best suits people staying for more than a few days and wanting to cook themselves. Using the restaurants in Savusavu daily is impractical due to the distance and huge potholes which are difficult to see at night. We loved the fresh air and multiple ceiling fans with the windows open at night but light sleepers used to quiet at night may find the noise of the sea a problem. Avi & Alex are excellent hosts and we enjoyed meeting them and particularly the charming Axel.

We had a fantastic stay at the Beachfront cottage! The property is beautiful and the Host family were great to work with. They provided fresh bouquets of flowers and passion fruit in the cottage upon arrival. We slept about 150 ft from the ocean and could hear the peaceful beach sounds all night. There is about a 2 mile stretch of black sand beach and we didn't see another beach on the island that was nicer than the one we had right out our front door! We also did two different waterfall hikes and they were both within about 10 mins of the cottage. We had some trouble with our phone charging cables and we were able to borrow a wireless charger from our Host family until we could figure our problem. We loved the outdoor shower. We used the kayaks one day and paddled up and down the coast. We saw sea turtle pop his head up right in front of us. If you love the quiet, secluded, off the beaten path type of stay (we were about 20min from Savusavu), then this is the place for you!

What an incredible property to escape EVERYTHING, and hear nothing but the waves of the ocean. This private oasis is a spectacular retreat for those seeking solitude. While it rained every day of our trip (early May), Avi was most gracious and even came to our rescue with medicine after I caught a brief cold. Would absolutely come back again!

This property is a pure gem. It was truly as the name suggests, -Tropical Splendour. It might best be described as rain forest meets beach. The property is lush with beautiful vegetation, sweet smelling flowers and a virtually private beach. Walks on the beach yielded only a very odd passerby. We mostly had it to ourselves .The cottage is SO uniquely decorated with Fijian art and artifacts. We felt totally immersed in the culture. Alex and Avi are wonderful hosts, offering help and information where required, while respecting privacy. The pool was amazing and we were in it morning, noon and night. We were able to view the Southern Cross while taking a nightly dip in the pool before bed.The bed was wonderful! Listening to the ocean crash the shore from its comfort, was zen like. It is very warm during the day, but we did not need the air conditioning at night, as temps cooled down beautifully. This allowed the beautiful sound of the ocean to lull us to sleep each night. The entire unit was well equipped. The kitchen housed all needed utensils, the furniture on the porch was comfortable and well enjoyed for afternoon naps.Sunsets on the beach are remarkable! We highly recommend this to anyone looking for a unique and fabulous travel experience. It is truly magnificent!

It doesn’t get more beautiful, private, and beach than this. We walked in the beach for sunset every day, used Alex’s kayak to paddle out and snorkel at the reef, and enjoyed cooking meals in the fully stocked kitchen. Alex and Avi are wonderful hosts. Responsive, welcoming, friendly. The cottage is beautifully designed and clean. The sound of the waves and birdsong was so relaxing. We highly recommend this beautiful spot!

We ABSOLUTELY loved our stay at this property. Alex and Avi were incredible hosts who made us feel like part of their family. Getting to know them, and their two sons, Ethan and Axel was fantastic. Alex was so accommodating and helped us with all of our needs. If quiet, relaxation, and privacy are what you are looking for, this is the place for you. The gardens are stunning, and the cottage is very comfortable, and stocked with everything you might need. Walking the beach was a highlight of each day. The sand was so soft and you will rarely see other people. The pool was great as well. The amenities of the property are exceptional. You can be as busy as you want to be, or rest and take it easy. Alex took us on a private snorkel tour that was absolutely amazing. It really was a day that is engraved on our souls. We hope to return one day soon!

Very beautiful well keep property. Alex and Avi are wonderful host and very helpful. This place is a ways a way from Savusavu, but it was nice to get away from busy life and just relax. We love hearing the waves of the ocean and the birds sing. There is also plenty of water activities such as snorkeling, coning and fishing. We would love to come back someday.
