The Cross Inn in Paxton, as well as two fine restaurants in the town of Allanton that are great for fishing and shooting parties, are also close. Berwick-upon-Tweed, on Northumberland's picturesque Heritage Coast, is just 7 miles away, with many restaurants, cafes, bars, and a local links golf course.
