The cottage was lovely, very cosy and had everything we needed for our stay. Great communication with the host. The village of Burton in Kendal was quaint but there wasn't alot there, so we only really used the cottage as a base for exploring the surrounding areas. Carnforth was nearby and has a pretty good sized Aldi for supplies, and while passing we saw Greenlands Farm Village. We checked it out the next day - brilliant for the kids! Kirkby Lonsdale isn't far and was lovely to walk round with some great little shops and of course Ruskins View is spectacular. Lakeland Maze Farm Park was another good find and not too far away - loads to do and well worth a visit. Windermere was 30 minutes away, although busy we enjoyed the World of Beatrix Potter and Windemere Lake Cruises. Great base to use and would use again.

Very nice cottage with all you need for a stay. Make sure to read the things to bring along section when booking. They are accurate. Lovely home with all you need for your stay other than as mentioned above. Several reviews mentioned traffic noise. During the daytime hours you do hear traffic to the front, but by evening it has quieted and is barely noticeable. Clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced. Book it.
