There is a local bus which takes you to Tregony and Portscatho, and, if you want to explore further, catch one of the ferries to Falmouth. This pretty town is situated on the harbour and there is lots to do here, including shopping, visiting the National Maritime Museum, walking around Pendennis Castle (another fortress built by Henry VIII) or walking along the coast path.

This area of the Roseland is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty surrounded by small villages like Veryan with its unique round houses; Portscatho with is own beach; and plenty of rolling countryside and small beaches to explore. The mild climate allows sub-tropical plants to survive, visit the gardens at Lamorran and Caerhays Estate or walk around the 13th-century church at St Just. You can catch one of the river ferries and get off at Trelissick, the walks along the Fal are relaxing, you can walk around the house and gardens, stopping at the shop to bring some plants back. St Mawes is a popular destination all year round, attracting walkers and cyclists, artists and photographers who enjoy the tranquillity and spectacular scenery, families love the beaches and freedom of exploring. A great house, with wonderful views and fab location, walking distance of all the local St Mawes cafes and restaurants. The house was clean with good facilities but a few things slightly let it down, broken shelf in fridge, a few tatty paper lamps that were ripped and rugs that were grubby. The kitchen was small which is in itself wasn’t an issue but there was jammed full of cooking equipment which made it feel cluttered. If these small issues were rectified it would definitely be 5 stars!

Great location close to the Rising Sun pub and Ferry to Falmouth. The cottage was well equipment although we did have chance to try out the Sun lounger and bbq since it was November! Overall we would recommend to others. Enjoy your stay.
