Came up for a long weekend for fall break. Quiet spot right on The bay. Bought lobster down the street multiple nights, kayak’d, fished for stripers, burned lots of firewood, hot tub didn’t work at first but owner got it working. Great times will definitely come back. One do the most interesting houses I ever rented. Lots of character
Best Place we’ve ever stayed at! Host was incredible and very gracious. View was unbelievable, true coast at its best. Extremely secluded and quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The two cottages had everything that you could possibly need. The host even had a fireplace with Drywood waiting for us. You couldn’t ask for a better vacation experience. We will definitely be staying here again. This place has it all.
The deck was so beautiful! We enjoyed sitting outside and soaking up the sun. The location is quiet and peaceful. The cottages are charming and clean. Truly a special place!
As two grandparents we came with our grandson and his parents, my son and his dog and my dog. With two comfortable houses with beautiful views it was perfect for us. It had everything we needed and a chance for the grandparents to sleep later than the baby!
We enjoyed a wonderful weekend at the cottages in May. The location could not have been more beautiful and relaxing, and both cottages were well outfitted with everything we needed. Our host was also incredibly responsive and easy to communicate with, which was an added bonus. If you're looking for a perfect escape for a week or even a weekend, I would highly recommend this rental.
Beautiful property in a beautiful town. Thank you, for an amazing experience.
Arrival to this relatively remote setting was a journey but keyless and contact-less Check-in was a breeze, after a few quickly answered queries from the owner who lives in a discrete separate house next door. Lots of personal mementos abound, which only add to the soulful & lived-in charm of the rustic main cottage, with an adjacent, more modern sister cottage (equipped with a laundry & it's own full bath). The main kitchen is crying out for additional shelves/storage for groups of more than 4, but the 2nd cottage's kitchenette could handle overflow such as group breakfasts or wet bar needs. In the main house, upstairs bedrooms under the eaves are reached via a steep staircase and have long, beautiful sea views. The very compact half bathroom adjoining the bedrooms is a welcome addition, (though a tight squeeze for fully grown men) as the full bath is quirkily located downstairs behind the kitchen. The dishwasher was a lifesaver, and a rear utility closet with cans for recyclables was appreciated, though more instruction on this topic would've been helpful. We hauled our own trash to the nearby transfer station which was a Maine moment in itself. Don't hesitate to find the local Clam Hunter or Oyster Bar for as-local-as-it-gets shellfish. We found basic provisions at the Center Store, and more choices in bustling Bath, about 30 mins away. The hot tub required finessing, and the fire pit (plus indoor fireplace) needed camp wood, but they made for perfect moments beside the spectacular sunsets. We even moved a porch table to the dock for an alfresco lunch. Dinners outside were not really an option on account of summer mosquitoes. The adjoining lawn was just large enough for a proper badminton game. Parking for 3 cars is reached by a flight of outdoor stairs on a level above the property. We ended up not visiting the popular sandy beach a mile or so away, as we took a long daytrip to Acadia Park (complete with a festive schooner ride & lobster roll lunch in Bar Harbor), but certainly would on a future visit.
Ideal spot to do nothing or to do kayaking, swimming, reading, eating, fishing, sitting in the hot tub Lots of spaces to get the sun , the shade, the breeze. Amazing sunsets. Houses had everything we needed Couldn’t have been better
We had a nice relaxing family weekend. We stayed in the main cottage, had a nice rustic feel we were looking for. If we were any closer to the water we would have been in it! Very easy check in/out. Very private
Quintessential Maine. A truly perfect, private spot. A wonderful mix of classic Maine and all the modern amenities. The cottages are surrounded with a lawn for games, sundeck and swimming/boating dock. We frequently relaxed on the deck as our children played in the ocean below. Spectacular sunsets from the porch in the evening. Our family enjoyed every moment. Popham Beach and Sebasco Resort are short drives away on the rare occasion you want to leave the compound. The hosts are very accommodating and have provided all the small, thoughtful touches to make the cottages very warm and welcoming. The arrangements for our vacation were easy to make. We loved our vacation and are looking forward to coming back every year.
