Conveniently situated close to village amenities, it is also just yards from the shores of the Teifi Estuary and the northern end of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. The ancient village of St Dogmaels nestles around its ruined Tironian abbey at the mouth of the River Teifi. It boasts a working 16th-century water mill, and holds an award-winning weekly produce market.

The area is justly renowned for its lovely beaches, hidden coves and stunning coastal scenery, and abounds with historic castles, forts and fascinating archaeology. In 2017 the nearby Cardigan Castle won the RICS ’Restoration of the Year’ award, screened on Channel 4, and is well worth a visit. Superb walking is also on offer on the coastal paths of both Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion, as well as the atmospheric Preseli Hills with an extensive local network of footpaths and bridleways. Wildlife in the area is abundant and dolphins, porpoises and seals are often seen from local beaches and coves.

The property itself enjoys distant views of the estuary from the living room and is just 1½ miles from the beautiful Poppit Sands. Golfing and riding are available locally, as well as fishing and watersports such as kayaking and coasteering. Nearby family attractions include Oakwood Theme Park, Bluestones, Folly Farm, Manor Park Zoo and the Welsh Wildlife Centre at Cilgerran. The property is situated a few yards from a bus stop giving easy access to Cardigan, Newport, Fishguard and St Davids. Narberth, Tenby, Aberystwyth, Aberaeron and Newquay are also easily accessible by car. Shop ¾ mile and pub serving food 500 yards.

Lots of good things about this place. Spacious well equipped good location. Things that was not as good as I would like. Dust in places the rear door was dirty, the patio needed a clean. The wood furniture needed a clean and a stain. The conservatory roof and gutters where green with algae and some brambles. They did not make a lot of difference but took it from superb to good. Was a quiet area. Re driveway it is steep but there is flat parking across the road. Could have steps to go up, if you weren't as steady on your feet.

This was our second stay at Tawelwch. It's a lovely 'home from home' in a beautiful village. The view of the river from the lounge window is stunning. The garden was great and secure for our black Lab. Only a five minute walk to the award winning Ferry Inn for top quality food. We will definitely be back! The cottage was perfectly located. Close to so many lovely beaches and walks. 2 excellent pubs serving food within walking distance. Estuary view from living livingroom window. The conservatory was a welcome addition and was perfect for the kids to play games in the evening. Spotlessly clean and the owners were very helpful. Everything we needed in a beautiful location. There could hardly be a more lovely place to spend a week becoming in tune with the ebb and flow of an estuary. Tawelwch is truly tranquil. It’s nice to be outside Cardigan and within a stone’s throw of a jetty for crabbing a diddling about! The owners clearly love their place and so did we. Thank you to them for helping us to put lockdown behind us. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

The cottage was really well located, clean (the oven was spotless), well kitted out and very comfortable. It was a very wet and windy week but the cottage was cosy. It would be even better in the Summer with the lovely enclosed garden. Poppit Sands is a lovely beach, dog friendly and not far away. The local fish and chip shop is excellent. St. Dogmael's Tuesday market shouldn't be missed; great food and gifts.

Very clean and well stocked bungalow. Lovely views of the river which is at the bottom of the street and has a lovely little pier for kids to fish and catch crabs from. A huge beach just 5 mins away at Poppit sands and a lovely little town also 5 mins away. Stunning coast to visit we really enjoyed our stay.
