Corsham is the perfect idyllic base to retreat to whilst exploring this southern edge of the Wiltshire Cotswolds. This charming and historical market town is right on your doorstep, offering a great choice of independent shops, a supermarket, cafés, pubs, takeaways and restaurants all within a few minutes’ walk of the lodge. The stately home of Corsham Court houses a celebrated collection of old master paintings; and if you take a stroll around the enchanting gardens and parkland, designed by Capability Brown, you may see Corsham’s famous peacocks. The town has 17th century Flemish weavers’ cottages, the Hungerford Almshouses, old inns, an idyllic cricket pitch and an elegant town hall. Corsham’s historic architecture was used in the filming of the TV production of ‘Poldark’. The sports centre (including swimming pool), is across the road for those wanting a more active break. For evening entertainment, The Pound Arts Centre hosts comedians, music, film and theatre (just 5 minutes’ walk away).

Experience the Georgian city of Bath only 9 miles away from Corsham by car or catch the train from nearby Chippenham. The pretty town of Bradford-on-Avon is only 8 miles away. The Kennet and Avon Canal and the River Avon offer boating, cycling and walking opportunities along the waterways.
