Immaculately presented, this first floor duplex apartment is situated in the charming fishing village of Anstruther. Providing contemporary living, yet maintaining the character of the building, Sailmaker’s Loft has been thoughtfully furnished for comfort and ease, and creates a wonderful atmosphere for a relaxing holiday for a couple. Anstruther is an old fishing town with cobbled streets, little alleyways and a working fishing harbour. Two sandy beaches for paddling or exploring the rock pools are just a few minutes’ walk from Sailmaker’s Loft.

For guests who enjoy eating out, there is a great choice from Michelin starred restaurants to fish and chip shops, restaurants, cafés and bars. The town also has a good selection of local gift shops, as well as boutiques and galleries to visit. For a great day out take a boat trip to the Isle of May and visit the renowned bird sanctuary and nature reserve, famous for puffins, grey seals and other wildlife in the summer months.

Enjoy leisurely walks along the Fife Coastal Path, which runs through the village, and visit historic castles, pretty fishing villages and many beautiful beaches and coves. The area is famous for golf courses, with a challenging 9-hole course along the shore and many links courses in the surrounding areas.

This area has a great seafaring history and a visit to the Scottish Fisheries Museum tells the story of the area. After spending your day exploring the shore, the open plan living space of Sailmaker’s Loft is the perfect spot in which to relax and admire the views over the sea. St Andrews is 9 miles away, and Edinburgh, Stirling, Perth and Gleneagles are all within an hour’s drive. Beach 20 yards. Shop 10 yards, pub and restaurant 5 yards.

The cottage is beautiful. Very tastefully decorated. Good location. There was only one thing worth mentioning - the freezer is tiny. It’s basically a shelf.
